Heard some things at the state tourney and Coach Rice is the choice.Not that alot of people want this job because the pay is horrible.The last I heard and this also came from the state tourney that he was considering Hardin Co.

Would like to know the "idiots" who don't want him back? You better get him while you got the chance. Him as a coach and his boys being that good he can go anywhere he wants big or small.You people have got problems in Wayne Co. This is a man that can take kids and make them believe in themselves. I know that things haven't been as good in Perry Co. but have you seen the players he has.The year he went 5-5 he should have gone 1-9. You better do something fast or you're going to lose him.Coach Rice just want what is best for his kids.Send him to Murfreesboro.We would welcome him with open arms and his boys!

Got a phone call this morning and the reliable source said that Coach Vandiver from Collinwood is the next coach at Wayne Co. Good luck next year and welcome to Region-6!

It's about time someone mentioned C.J.s name.He is the best athlete in the whole tournament, by far.Led the state in every classification in rushing in football.And he has got to have led the state in steals.A true 4.5 in the forty and he is just fun to watch.I promise you he will run circles around those kids from Clay Co. if he stays out of foul trouble.He is that good.Gets it done real quite like! Always grinning when he plays because he know he is so much faster and quicker.Oh and by the way he shoots the 3 pretty decent too.

It would be awesome if things were like they use to be.Even though Coach Rice is back in Region 6, its still not the same when those two hardheaded coaches went at it.Maybe we can get Coach Mac back somewhere in Region 6 and let him and Rice go at it again.Pretty boring with those two not going at it anymore.More stories than I can ever remember.They certainly love what they do!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard there was going to be an announcement on the Wayne Co. job next week. Hearing through the grapevine it is one of the coaches at Collinwood.Let us know! Also when is Eagleville going through spring practice? Hearing awesome things from this bunch!

warrior2024, I agree with you! People need to be stand up people and be responsible for any bad choice they choose.Leadership has become a foreign word in athletic fields.If you do have it wether it be a coach or player you better take advantage of it.I wish we could go back to the old days where things were dealt with on the field and dealt with right then, instead of the court system!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this will be a very tough region.Probably the toughest region in the state in Class A. Got alot of good players returning.Looks like Region 5 has finally caught with Region 6.Region 6 is going to be "way down" next year.There are only two teams in region 6 next year and that is Mt.Pleasant and Collinwood. Lowest I've seen it in 20 years!That's a shame because this region has always taken alot of pride in being the most competitive region in the state in Class A. You boys better get to work or it could be a long year or two. What about Eagleville? Are they going to be that good? Hearing good things in the Boro!

He has won on pure talent alone! Seen his teams play in the state championships and they were always so undisciplined and things would happen on the sidelines that I didn't agree with(players talking back), but they won and I guess that is all that matters.Good luck because you better have tons of talent!!!!!!!!!!!

#3 Hammack is there best player.Led the state in rushing in every classification in football this year.The quickest and fastest kid that I have ever seen.Saw him play in a holiday tourney.Can take over a game in a hurry!

Going down the Trace would be your best bet.Look for Waynesboro exit and get on Hwy. 64 west.About 10 miles from the square and follow the signs to Collinwood or Florence, Al.which is Hwy. 13 South.Go about a mile and it will be on your left.

Not like it use to be, but the teams that have true discipline are the one's in the state championships. There are some teams that win on pure talent with not alot of discipline and respect from the community(Alcoa). It's a lost art and should be instilled in our kids by the parents. I hear great things from the coach at Livingston Academy. Demands repect and the community really is very supportive.

I've talked to other coaches about Mac and Rice and said these two men got the most out of there players.Didn't matter if they had alot of talent, they always found a way to be really competitve.Nice story!I'm sure there are plenty more.Too bad there not around anymore.

I agree with you.There are alot of great coaches out thee but his record speaks for itself!Clint Satterfield has my vote!

U Use to hear stories about these two coahes(Mac and Rice). I heard they had some wars over the years.Too bad things have changed.They have both moved on.As for Region 6 and state championships they beat the hec out of each other during the season because they have got so many region games. I think they have 8 region games now but at one time they had 9.Richland and Moore Co. are the only teams from Region 6(Richland once and Moore Co. twice) to make it to the state championship game, and was runner-up.Richland is now 2A. Tough region to play in! Oh the days of Mac and Rice.It must of been fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach Smith and his staff deserves alot of credit.He has done a great job since taking over.Has blended his athletes well.A classy guy!

Collinwood has got the most consecutive wins I think 38 in a row.What a run! Yes I aree Mt. Pleasant should dominate every year no questions asked. They are in the line with Trousdale Co., Lake Co. and South Pittsburg.They have the same type athletes.Should dominate every year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep! Things haven't been the same since the ole ball coach left Jack Daniels land.Great coach and doing great things in Ripley, Ms.

I agree with this.Mt. Pleasant is hands down the team to beat with Daily.Got to see this kid play once this year and he was phenomenal.If this kid has got the grades then you're looking at a D-1 prospect.Collinwood will win alot of games because there coach will outwork everyone in Region-6.The only team to give Mt.Pleasant a run for it.Cornersville is the team everyone better look out for.I posted awhile back that with there great coaching(Stockstill) experienced players returning, and players moving in(Marshall Co.) and other places they will be reckoned with.You beter be ready to play this bunch next year.It won't be the old Cornersville teams of the past.Wayne Co. has a chance to get to the playoffs if they can get there coaching situation worked out.That place is in a mess right now.Moore Co. was going to be the team to beat next year, but a bunch of there key players have quit.Huntland loses alot of talent.Perry Co. lost a bunch and they only won two games last year.Columbia Academy loses everyone, but they may bring in a player or two to help them.Zion will be hard pressed to win any games.There Junior high team was really good this year, so things look promising for the future. It basically boils down to who works the hardest in the off-season.This region has been predominately the strongest region in the state for years, but things could be down somewhat next year! What about the teams in region 5 next year? Being from Rutherford Co. and with Eagleville here how will they be next year?McEwen?Forrest?Cascade?Jo Byrns?

Waynesboro Middle School beat Caywood in the 4-A game 37-31, not Beaver.Rickman beat Beaver by two points and Waynesboro beat Rickman by 31 in the James C. Haile tourney.Great team at Waynesboro!

The only team in this area that has a chance to knock off Trousdale Co. Good athletes and a really good coach. Coach Smith has got it going on in Maury Co. Can anyone beat him in Region 6.A great coach with lots of class!
