  1. I've seen ball players from all over the state this spring and I'd say Molly Heady is the best all-around. There are several other great ones but you asked for the Best.
  2. Anybody seen schedules for area team camps for the summer?
  3. Gibson was up by 3 with 3:14 to go. Don't act like you blew the Lady Wildcats out of the gym. It didn't happen. It was a good ball game. The better team won yesterday. In my opinion, McMinn was a better team than the team LA faced yesterday, as was Upperman. That's the way the game came out yesterday. Congratulations to Gibson County on a State Championship, congratulations to LA on runner-up. You made a good run.
  4. I don't have a dog in this fight but...I've seen Clarkrange play 6-8 times this year, and I've never seen a team with this many talented players. I would put them up against anyone, Gibson included, and bet my last dime on Clarkrange. I don't think Clarkrange has played their best ball in Murf, not that they've had to to pull out these wins. I think this is one of the best high school teams I've seen in 40+ years of watching basketball. Yes, they are that good. Nothing against Madison's coach but there's a reason Rogers has 940+ wins. He gets the best out of his players. When Madison's coach gets inducted in the hall of fame with that many wins, come back and remind us that you thought he was the best A coach around. Good Luck Lady Buffaloes!
  5. How sad it was to see a school the size of Ckvl have ZERO students in the student section on the end of the gym. It was only the second trip in school history and an hour away from home. SHAME ON YOU!! The parents and students that sat among the parents were supportive but I can't believe there wasn't a bigger showing of Cookeville fans. The McGavock fans were loud and proud; if Cavs fans had done the same, the outcome might have been different. Cookeville was in the game through the first three quarters and hearing your fans cheering could have made the difference.
  6. Is it safe to assume Monterey didn't have a vote tonight? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Way to go Lady Buffaloes!!
  7. 4th place and 2nd got the same number of players on all-tournament? LA's 54 deserved all-tourney beyond a doubt. Who votes on this stuff? Upperman outplayed LA tonight and deserved the win. Hope 7AA meets up again in regional finals.

  9. Last night I saw two great basketball games. The officiating was horrible and it should have been called tighter from the start to prevent kids from getting hurt. This is and has been a great rivalry! Last night was the best atmosphere for basketball I've seen in a long time. LA's gym was rocking and it was nice to be across from the opponents rather than sitting amongst them. I've no doubt that Coach McWilliams was not aware that she had a ballplayer on the front row "flashing" (belly & sports bra) the Livingston side. She has more class than that and holds her players to a higher standard. After all the talk, I'm sure she can watch the game tape for herself and deal with the behavior accordingly. I love to see the student sections yelling back and forth, that's what a rivalry is. Should either team make it as far as state, there will be fans from both schools there cheering for the other. The Upper Cumberland regularly has some of the best ball in the state and we should appreciate what we take for granted. Enjoy upcoming the tournaments but remember that it's a game and it's being played between kids. All that being said, GO HOGEYE!
  10. Please post a schedule if anyone has it.
  11. When comparing the number of teams in an age division in previous years to this year, many divisions are half the number they were in the past. I think the cost of travel has been the biggest deterrent this year. I'm sure there are other contributing reasons, but smaller clubs that have no financial backers are relying on their players' parents to bear all the costs.
  12. Since no one else replied, I'll send advice from the other end of the state. I'd start checking the tngirlsbasketball.net website in Jan/Feb. Depending on her birthdate (which can be determined using the age calculator on aaugirlsbasketball.org), look for teams advertising for players in her age group. If she's a stellar ball player, she could possibly play up an age division. AAU allows you to play up, but not down. 13u can play 14u, but not 12u. From what little I know about your part of the country, I'd guess it's a choice between Memphis and Nashville. I'm not sure how far it is to Martin, but they have teams in all age groups as well, Tennessee Wings, David Hart dhart@atacpa.net. Good luck and despite hearing more negative than positive on these message boards, AAU can make a world of difference in your ball player.
  13. You'd think someone would update tngirlsbasketball.net...
  14. How did Team TN get in when they weren't even third in their sub-state?
  15. Has anyone heard the results from North Middle this weekend?
  16. Surely, SEC schools are too smart to let her get away. For some reason, these schools want to look everywhere but in their back yard where some of the best high school basketball is played.
  17. Why do the Pride Teams play in Ashland City instead of Shelbyville which is much closer for them?
  18. That's a big IF. This year it was all about "me", not the team, lots of selfish playing. They have talent if they will all come together. Kilgore can handle herself down low, if she gets the playing time. Looking forward to next year because watching this year's team was painful!
  19. Monday 5:30 RES vs AES girls, 6:30 RES vs AES boys, 7:30 HES vs LMS girls, 8:30 HES vs LMS boys. Tuesday 5:30 AES vs LMS g, 6:30 HES vs RES b, 7:30 HES vs RES g, AES vs LMS b. Thursday 5:30 AES vs HES g, 6:30 AES vs HES b, 7:30 RES vs LMS g, 8:30 RES vs LMS b
  20. Sorry. With the exception of mentioning Leonard, I didn't where you specified boys or girls in your predictions.
  21. You didn't specify boys or girls but both Allons teams are solid teams. Both teams won in A Division last year, I believe.
  22. I think you are writing off the Overton County teams (Hilham, Allons, Rickman) a little early. Allons should see finals as should Hilham boys and Rickman girls.
  23. Wormy1, I think you hit the nail on the head. Allons wasn't worried about Hilham and it showed. I don't know what Coach Kennard said in the Hilham locker room at halftime, but it worked. Hilham showed heart and determination can win. Congratulations on the strides made by the Hilham ball teams. Go Overton County in the TNT, we need to bring home the A, 2A, 3A state championships!
  24. I believe the score was 74 to 12.
