  1. Unfortunately, based on what I have seen so far, I think Lebanon is going to make a push for the bottom.
  2. Is there video of the controversial buzzer beater in the Mt. Juliet - Hillsboro game?
  3. The title of the thread is "Payday."
  4. Special teams cost Lebanon two or three wins this year. Blocked punts, punts returned for a touchdown, missed field goals, and many missed extra points. This has to improve next year if Lebanon wants to finish .500 or better. There are several kids in the school who would have been better kickers and punters than what they had. I guess they couldn't be convinced to play. Coach, if you are reading this (I doubt you are) seek them out.
  5. I have certainly heard of Chatt. Tyner. I did not know they were a magnet school.
  6. I am not tight with either one. Are you going to root for Fairview so you do not have to play KC?
  7. Do the magnet schools in Chattanooga have athletic programs?
  8. Dekalb will be shaking his Poms for the two public schools.
  9. Does Knoxville or Chattanooga have magnet schools? I know Nashville has a couple and Hume Fogg has had some good teams. One of their challenges is they do not have any facilites.
  10. Maybe I misunderstood you post, but are you saying you would welcome a split even though it would bankrupt the schools.
  11. This same debate is going on in the football and basketball forums. At some point this will come to a "head." I believe there will be a split at some point. Take a look at these two posts.
  12. Lets just put it out there. 13. I think we all know that having access to kids who play travel soccer is the most significant factor (not the only factor) in determining success in high school soccer. That pool of travel players is concentrated in metropolitan areas (typically a major city and surrounding counties. Metropolitan areas are 20 years ahead in the development of soccer in their communities vs. rural counties. How many public A-AA teams have access to that pool of players? In the Nashville area, Whitehouse and Page does and they have been successful the last few years in A-AA. For a short time Station Camp did. They are now in AAA. What happened to Ridgeway since they made the move to AAA? Both the boys and girls teams were successful. Was there a huge demographic switch?
  14. I agree that moving the CAK's and the ND's out of A-AA will not make anyone else better. My question to the CAK's and the ND's, what are you doing to make yourself better? Are you trying to move up to a higher classification to push yourselves? Winning in AAA or Division II would certainly be more of a challenge for you. Have any schools lobbied TSSAA to allow schools to move up in classification in single sports?
  15. I may be off one or two on the following. With the exception of basketball private schools have won their share. Soccer has not penetrated into smaller communities. I believe Coach K. is working to develop youth soccer in his community. He is 20 years behind urban and a lot of sub-urban communities. Baseball Class A private schools have won 11 of last 17 Baseball Class AA private schools have won 10 of last 17 Softball Class A private schools have won 15 of last 17 Softball Class AA private schools have won 5 of last 17 Boys Soccer A-AA private schools have won 15 of last 18 Volleyball A, AA and A-AA private schools have won 8 of last 23 Boys Basketball Class A private schools have won 7 of 18 Boys Basketball Class AA private schools have won 2 of 18 Girls Basketball Class A private schools have won 0 of 18 Girls Basketball Class AA private schools have won 2 of last 18
  16. DeKalbsCoachK may be bitter, but he certainly has the stats on his side. 11 in a row for private schools in A-AA. 2012 Christ Presbyterian Academy 2011 Christian Academy of Knoxville 2010 Notre Dame 2009 Christian Academy of Knoxville 2008 Christian Academy of Knoxville 2007 Franklin Road Academy 2006 Christian Academy of Knoxville 2005 Franklin Road Academy 2004 Franklin Road Academy 2003 Donelson Christian Academy 2002 Franklin Road Academy 2001 Ridgeway 2000 Ridgeway 1999 Ridgeway 1998 Ridgeway 1997 Chattanooga Christian
  17. Jacob Williams from Wilson Central would be on the top of my list.
  18. I am not sure what your point is. So you are saying that it is OK to have a classification where 15 out of 18 championships and 11 in row are won by private schools? Private schools make up a small percentage of A/AA schools.
  19. That is tought to say. In one game, anything could happen. CAK did lose to Farragut 4-2. Franklin beat Farragut 3-1. Franklin looked very good. Maybe the best high school team I have ever seen.
  20. These are estimated by taking half of the enrollment numbers used for classification for 2013 - 2016. Greeneville - 421 Whitehouse - 449 East Hamilton - 554 Kingsbury - 572 It looks like East Hamilton and Kingsbury will move to AAA next year.
  21. Remember this post from last years final. Hopefully Friday's game will be just as exciting as last year's game but without the poor behavior from the fans.

    9-AAA in 2013

9AAA teams will find out what they are made of this weekend. Besides Hendersonville, have any other 9AAA teams made it to the state tournament?

    9-AAA in 2013

Evidently the game went to kicks from the mark and Mt. Juliet won. The Tennessean reports the score as 2 - 1.
  24. District 9AAA Mt. Juliet 1 - Hendersonville 1 Mt. Juliet wins 9AAA in kicks from the mark.
