  1. Thank you for putting "AP" in his place. He is an arrogant little short guy that stood on the sidelines 99% of the season for all of his 4 years of high school. His playing time was limited to games that were already won and done. His contribution to the team was handing out water during timeouts on the playing field. Now that he has graduated he feels that he is an authority on DII football. What a joke!
  2. BGA's defense did look horrible. Huge runs right through the middle enabled MUS to dominate. The linebackers couldn't stop anything that got through the D-line. Very poor execution. I was told that for some reason the defense was changed in game 9 and players were moved around and that in the MUS game players were moved around again. The defense that had been used in the previous games was apparently successful in helping BGA control the opposing teams. Why change something if it is working??? I think that is the question the BGA fans are asking right now. Not sure how many seniors graduate as to how it will effect next year's team. MUS is a strong team. I see them playing for the title. Will be a good game no matter which middle TN they play.
  3. Football Doc- I want to catch a game or two of BGA's to see what Johnson has put together this year. Who are the key players?? Who other than the Ramsey kid do you see as D1 potentials. I love the attitude that his teams bring to the field. Anxious to see what Marty has put together on the offense. Wish them much luck and hope they continue to be successful!
  4. The same situation occurred with Armstrong as with Owens. Threats to the coach, not following team rules, bad attitude, etc. Coach Moore is an awesome coach who is very strong with discipline which is a very good thing especially at that school. Armstrong as well as Owens had an attitude problem and did not get along with teamates and/or the coach. Both have lots of talent so who knows where it will go from here. Talent without discipline is wasted talent. Look at Columbia's football team as mentioned in a previous post. I wish the best to Owens because she is a very talented player. Let's just hope she can get her act together when she gets to Western.
  5. I think it is an agency that helps families--food, clothing, etc. It is called the Familly Center. I don't live in that county either, but I have heard of it. I don't think Vance Belew is known for his organization skills so I think that hurts and may keep some teams away. I was told this by several coaches. It might do much better in the future if they associate someone else's name with it if they continue to have it.
  6. I heard the BGA players turned in their gear yesterday. The football players that are wrestling begin practice tomorrow. Doesn't sound like they will be playing any more football.
  7. Who is hurt besides their quarterback?? He is the only one I have heard about.
  8. Unfortunately, BGA's quarterback broke his arm in the Baylor game. Had surgery Sat. morning.
  9. I hope you don't attend BGA jballer because if you do you are an embarrassment to them. Your grammar is beyond horrible. Guess you must be one of their "recruits" that spends the summer going to summer school to pass.
  10. It was announced at BGA this morning that Coach McDanial was leaving to be the head coach at Moore County. Great guy who knows football and is very well liked by the players. He was also over the strength and conditioning program for the team. It is a big loss to BGA as it continues to build its program.
  11. TJ teaches junior history at BGA and has a full load just like the other faculty. I do know that for a fact having friends with kids there in the upper school. I'm sure the pay and the benefits are much better than the public schools just like they are at most of the privates around Franklin/Brentwood/Nashville. I hope he stays put because if anyone can turn that program around he can do it, and the school is definitely committed to turning it around.
  12. I could be wrong, but I think Johnson will stay at BGA. He knew the program and the athletes before he took the job. He has great facilities and whatever he needs is basically provided. His JV team this year looked awesome. Lots of talent. He and his staff are very well liked by the school, and I think BGA will do whatever necessary to keep him right where he is. Again, I could be very wrong. For the sake of BGA I hope he stays where he is! What an great coach and a super nice guy!!!
  13. I totally agree. Unfortunately, I don't think the administration recognizes that there is a problem.
  14. Yes, the stadium is great but it belongs to the county park system and they have to pay to play there. They pay to use it on Thursdays for walk-throughs and then pay to use it on Friday nights. I don't think it is cheap either. At one time I heard how much it was but I cannot remember even a ballpark figure now. I just remember thinking that it was a lot of money. It is a great stadium, but the problem is that whoever plays there they have to pay to use it. It's also used by one of the private schools there. Think it is Zion Christian since they don't have a stadium.
  15. I've mentioned on here several times that Bullock from Whitthorne Middle is the man for the job. Knows the game inside and out, very strict on discipline, and highly respected by parents, players, and the community. The entire coaching staff at Columbia Central needs to go. Hire Bullock and let him hire his own staff. It's a guaranteed road to the playoffs. I really don't think Columbia Central as a school is dedicated to having a good football team. The facilities are very poor and once again they don't even have their own stadium. Until the administration and the community get fired up into having a "real" football program I don't think any changes will be made to the coaching or the facilities. The head coach is a home town boy so he will be there forever. The really sad part is that there is talent on the team and there are some really good guys, but the total lack of discipline and the actions of some of players on the team have caused them to be known as a team of "thugs". Most teams refer to them by that name and it is a total shame. It all starts with the head coach and I think he will stay right where he is for years to come.
