How can you leave Benny Monroe off this list, unless it is just the Knoxville area?

The year was 1977, I was the game director for both games. Alcoa vs. Lake County and Maryville vs Milam. It was a great night for Blount County football.

Alcoa could find a quality game in East Tennessee if they wanted one, but my opinion is they do not wish to find one. Why drive to west TN for a game or even KY? Find a local team or take the bye week till the AD has a year or two to work out a game for that spot in the schdual. FBE- I would like to know who would play Alcoa in East Tenn. I know how hard it is to develop a schedule at AHS- I have been there. I wish you wouldn't be so negative about AHS, I have been trying to develop a cooperative attitude between the two schools for a long time. Clint Abbott

Coacht has the correct answer, I have attended the NFHS convention and it is one of the most informative conventions that I have ever attended. I have also attended the TASSP, NASSP, ASCD, TASCD. NLC, and TML. People form a great networking interaction with people all over the USA. This tool is very valuable to be able to discuss your problems with people who have already solved that problem. I attended Alcoa's first home game in six years yesterday. They have a new baseball and softball field. They are both great. Alcoa beat Knox Catholic 1 to 0. Clint

I talked to Benny today and he said that he will probably go back to school next week. Clint

I talked to Benny several times last Friday and Saturday. He called me to find out about Jake Young and how he was doing at the state wrestling tournament. Jake was the ninth grade team fullback. He is also a quality wrestler, having finished third in the tourney. Benny wanted Jake to know that he was pulling for him and and keeping up with him. He is well enough to start thinking about next football season. Clint

I just talked to Jane-Benny's wife- and she said Benny is doing well and getting out and walking some. He goes to the mall when the weather is cold. She also said he is back to being ornery. He is always ornery, so he is making progress toward being his old self. Clint
