I have been hesitant about posting on this thread, but I have given in to the pressure. I have been associated with Alcoa High School in one way or the other since 1969. I have seen many wonderful students and some athletes take advantage of being able to attend Alcoa City Schools and get a good education for as little as $90.00 dollars a year. Many of these students have become successful citizens and tax payers, for which I'm glad, because i'm now able to draw for a living. Some of these athletes have been great contributors to our successful athletic program. I am not ashamed that ACS has had an advantage in athletics and producing great productive citizens. I believe that the mission of ACS is to be the best that ACS can be in all endeavors. How can you not be for that? We are not always successful, but the effort is there or there will be consequences. I was the principal in 1974 and AHS didn't win a football game, I also was behind the team that went 3 and 7 in 2002. I wish all people would just be good citizens and aspire to be the best that they could be. Clint Abbott, AHS Priciapal-1973 until June 30, 1995. Alcoa City Commissioner 1999 until present. Best wishes to all who compete to be successful- You don't have to win to be successful, just do your very best.
