  1. Coach Morgan is well deserving of any and all awards and accolades he receives. I've officiated for coach at all levels and although i missed some, he was always a gentleman. Clint Abbott
  2. I have grown a beard so I would look like Abe, but he was too young for me.
  3. I have been close to Alcoa football since 1969 and Alcoa has played anybody that would play them. Nothing is as frustrating as trying to get a schedule for AHS in football.
  4. Which exit off I-65 is the venue?
  5. Do you mean Big Ed's in Oak Ridge?
  6. I didn't post to draw attention to me, but to the Alcoa School System. Alcoa High was a good school before I was there. I just hope I kept the school moving forward. If any organization is not moving forward, it is going backward, you don't maintain any organization.
  7. I have been hesitant about posting on this thread, but I have given in to the pressure. I have been associated with Alcoa High School in one way or the other since 1969. I have seen many wonderful students and some athletes take advantage of being able to attend Alcoa City Schools and get a good education for as little as $90.00 dollars a year. Many of these students have become successful citizens and tax payers, for which I'm glad, because i'm now able to draw for a living. Some of these athletes have been great contributors to our successful athletic program. I am not ashamed that ACS has had an advantage in athletics and producing great productive citizens. I believe that the mission of ACS is to be the best that ACS can be in all endeavors. How can you not be for that? We are not always successful, but the effort is there or there will be consequences. I was the principal in 1974 and AHS didn't win a football game, I also was behind the team that went 3 and 7 in 2002. I wish all people would just be good citizens and aspire to be the best that they could be. Clint Abbott, AHS Priciapal-1973 until June 30, 1995. Alcoa City Commissioner 1999 until present. Best wishes to all who compete to be successful- You don't have to win to be successful, just do your very best.
  8. It takes a better man to admit he made a mistake, than to try pass the buck.
  9. Alcoa played McMinn Central in the early 70's. One game was 13 for Alcoa and 12 for McMinn Central. This was when Eddie Rich was coaching at Central.
  10. This game will be played on Thursday, Oct. 22 at Alcoa. What are your thoughts?
  11. I lift up our troops and our future troops every day. I am glad to say that I am proud to be an American and I don't apoligize for our past.
  12. Does anyone know if this game will be broadcast over the internet?
  13. I say pay your 60.00 and get a shirt, it is'nt easy. Clint Abbott
  14. The TSSAA approved non faculty in the fall of 1995 and the first coaches education class was the second week of March of 1996. They are used in every sport of the TSSAA have had over 5000 participants in 147 classes. The class is taught about 14 times a year all across the state.
  15. My name is Clint Abbott and I spent 22 years as an administrator at AHS and what you are saying is the most absurd statement that I have ever heard. Gary Rankin is a great school man and a great football coach. He is interested in the kids, not himself. You are pathetic!
  16. Tyler is a rising senior and will graduate in 2010 from Alcoa High School.
  17. McMinn Central is also out of district.
  18. I worked for 42 years as an official in the state of Tennessee. I have officiated in 7 or 8 different states and I think the Tennessee refs do a good job. The TSSAA does used old refs to evaluate officials. Get a shirt and whistle and quit using a message board to air your complaints. Clint Abbott- If you would like to discuss this further, my email is cabbott@chartertn and my cell number is 865-310-2935. Quit hiding behind a made up name on coacht.
  19. Buy a whistle and pay your fees and try officiating, it ain't easy
  20. Weigh-ins at 2:30 p. m. on Friday and Wrestling begins at 3:30 p. m. in Clarksville, not sure about Father Ryan.
  21. Prayers from Clint Abbott.
