  1. Rollredroll, I appreciate your comments. Thanks for providing the research on some of the Super 7 teams. That's all I was asking for. Just some evidence to back this idea that the Super 7 can compete on the outside. If carefully read all my posts, however, I have never said that Ezell is a powerhouse. They are no where near that. It did irk me when someone posted that Ezell wouldn't come within three touchdowns of ANY Super 7 team. I don't think even you would agree with that. I remember the 76-0 losses. I have never said that Ezell would dominate. I have always carefully noted that anyone can beat Ezell on any night (check the Forrest thread). I'm not too sure where you got the idea from that I thought Ezell was unbeatable through my simple question of, "what makes the Super 7 so 'super.'" Sorry for giving off that impression, though. I thought I was structuring my comments in a humble manner, but I guess I need to proofread my comments with more scrutiny. We Ezell fans are actually the last people to get arrogant because we have been on the other side and know exactly what it is like. We also know it doesn't take much to go back... 2. That's what everyone was saying about 12-0 Collinwood last year until they came to Ezell and got handed a 42-21 loss and a big fat "1" in the loss column. Don't get me wrong, Collinwood is a great team. You just have to beat the best to be the best. Not come on to CoachT and type it out.
  3. Wooo....that tough Super 7 league. What's makes it so Super anyway? Is it the teams they beat outside of the league that proves they can hang with anyone in the state? Well, no, because you don't see them playing Maryville, Riverdale, Hillsboro or evenly lowly Ezell. Just because it's all privates and has some schools with fancy names doesn't make it great either, so I don't wanna hear any of that bull. All I am asking is what on Earth makes that league of 7 teams, "Super."
  4. Okie, I'm proud of you for saying you will stand by your words (country boy whoopin') If you read the article about Ezell's QB, you will find that he has been hiding it for two weeks because he was afraid the Coach would bench him. Here's my take: If Ezell beats Forrest with an injured QB, was does that say about YOUR football team? And Forrest21, you just need to take it easy. No one from Ezell has come on here and typed ONE word about overlooking Forrest, not respecting Forrest or handling Forrest with no problem. Also Forrest21, get a clue and come out of your shell. Region 6-1A the toughest region in the state? Certainly not this year. Region 5 has had 4 different schools win the State Championship in the past 10 years (FRA 1991, DCA 1996, CPA 2000, EH 2001). How many has that tough 6-1A won in the past 10 years? Don't worry about it, I can answer the question for you: ZERO. You know what though, I'm glad to see how much you Forrest people believe in your team. Even though you have a flair of arrogance (I'm not sure where it came from) it's still good to see how much you guys are behind your team.
  5. Private schools can't wait!
  6. That is tough to swallow. Maybe the Tennessean or City Paper can do some research into this to check out its validity

    FORREST@EZELL

Okie, Remember your "country boy whoopin'" and guaranteed victory of Forrest over Ezell? I do. Remember me asking you if you were man enough to post a retraction if Forrest gets beats? I do. If Forrest gets beat, I expect to see you come back on here Saturday morning and admit it that no "country boy whoopin'" took place. [Edited by sportsfan0603 on 11-7-02 10:00A]
  8. Pitw, I don't know if you could find anyone in the entire state who would agree with you. Most teams in the "7" would beat Ezell by 3 touchdowns? Wow. I'm not saying Ezell would dominate, but you'd have to be nuttier than squirrel terds to think they couldn't compete. I know the Tennessean isn't that credible, but have you checked out their poll? Hmm...I can't seem to find but one "Super" 7 team in it. Same goes for the power rankings (www.prepratings.com, check them out). Aside BA, Ezell has a WAY higher score than every other "Super" 7 team. Oh, but wait a minute! I just remembered that polls don't mean a thing! Neither do power rankings! Because if they were correct, every Super 7 team would be in the top 10! I hope whatever "Super" 7 team you pull for wins its TWO games so it can be the "state champion" (of only seven teams, by the way). Anyway, all this is to say, Ezell would not dominate a game against an "S7" team, but they certainly wouldn't lose by 3 touchdowns...
  9. The best post I have ever read on CoachT.com Good mark for you.
  10. I fail to see how a school that charges thousands of dollars a year for its student to enroll has an advantage over a school that charges nothing at all to enroll. A school that charges money or a school that charges nothing? A pizza place that charges for a slice or a pizza place that charges nothing for a slice? Who do you think has the advantage? I do see how a school charging thousands of dollars a year would immediately eliminate the majority of people from ever attending in the first place... All I am saying is that this is a definite disadvantage for private schools. Just admit to it. Private schools have disadvantages, too. I'm done with this since this is a football board. 11. Hey Blue, Keep on harping about "country boy whoopings" the rest of the week. Go ahead and guarantee a sweep of Region 5 teams. Keep preaching that Forrest is going to shut out Ezell. I just ask one thing... Are you man enough to come back to this board on Saturday morning and post a retraction? I'm not saying that all Region 5 will win, but I will say that you can bet your country farm that a good ole country whoopin' on all four teams is NOT going to happen...you can book it. So Blue, can you come back and admit you were wrong? Are you man enough to stand by what you say? I know I am.
  12. The most gutless of all these teams are the alphbet teams. You have certain advantages, but you hide in 1a because your school is small! What a joke!!! Yankee Doodle Dandy, What private school advantages are you talking about? The entrance exams required to even get in the private schools? Or the advantage of students maintaining a good GPA or risked being kicked out? I just thought of another advantage of private schools. The ethical and character rules that are enforced or be kicked out. Or what the about the advantage of having to charge students $5,000 a year to even set foot in the door? Were any of those the advantages you were talking about? Those are some great advantages of private schools! I bet publics wish they had those advantages as well! Oh, wait a minute, my bad! Those are all DISADVANTAGES that private schools have! [Edited by sportsfan0603 on 11-6-02 12:57A]
  13. Hey Okie, If Forrest gets beat by Ezell, are you man enough to come back on here afterwards and post a retraction? You sure are talking a lot of trash about Ezell...
  14. Congratulations Ezell-Harding Eagles on back to back undefeated regular seasons. Let's keep that 27 game winning streak alive. Also, good luck to all the Region 5-1A teams.
  15. Does the Clarksville Academy game count as a forfeit or not? The City Paper stated that Ezell was 8-0 (which would not include a forfeit by Clarksville Academy), but claimed Jo Byrns was 7-3 due to a forfeit by Clarksville Academy. So what's the deal, pickle? Is Ezell 8-0 or 9-0? Is the streak at 25 or 26 games? Is Jo Byrns 7-3 or 6-3? Should FRA and Jo Byrns be allowed to arm wrestle for the 4th playoff spot?
  16. The Ezell-Harding Marching Band won the Division I State Band Championship Saturday night at Riverdale High School. If you don't have anything positive to say then don't type out a reply. I know it's a football board, but the Band is apart of the Friday night environment, so I thought I would share the announcement with everyone. Congratulations Ezell-Harding on being State Champs!
  17. I can't wait! I'm so sick of hearing all the excuses made by the public school parents for losing! If you can't beat 'em, then just run away!
  18. Are we looking too far ahead? Wonder if Ezell doesn't make the playoffs?
  19. Ezell-Harding (7-0) vs. Jo Byrns (5-2) Last season, Jo Byrns gave Ezell a run for their money (21-14) at Ezell. This season, Ezell travels to Jo Byrns for this region match-up. Anyone have an assesment on this game? Predictions?
  20. Sorry guys, thought they snuck in that year. You didn't have to a butt about it, Real Go... [Edited by sportsfan0603 on 10-14-02 2:10P]
  21. Chakra, I don't understand the "24" in a row. The streak should be 22 in a row. You cannot count any of the games from 2000 because the season ended with a loss in the playoffs. (only one team a year doesn't end the season on a loss). Therefore, you have to start the streak at the beginning of the 2001 campaign (15-0) and end it with this years record (7-0) to put the streak at 22. Now, if you want to say, "I get 24 because I add in the last two games of the 2000 regular season and don't count the playoffs," then you shouldn't count the playoffs from 2001 either. Not meaning to be harsh or anything, I'm just trying to get the streak correct! It stinks when different records and streaks get all jumbled up because people are measuring them in different ways. (Tiger Woods, grand slam in golf; consecutive game hitting streaks in baseball carrying over from season before; etc.)
  22. Wow, there is another article in the Tennessean today about CPA! This time it's about the middle school! http://news.tennessean.com/preps/preps.php...ory&rc=y&id=127 I'm not upset or anything, I think it's great that CPA gets covered the way they do by the Tennessean. But whoever started that thread earlier this season about CPA getting a lot of press was exactly right!
  23. Chakra, Are you saying that if Ezell goes undefeated, they are still going to have to travel in the playoffs? I know it wasn't that way last year, but if it is that way now, then what is the point in having a good season to earn home field advantage?
  24. people feel that private schools have an advantage because they have a larger area to draw from, but they fail to realize that the equilizer is 1-academic testing to get in, 2-ethical and character rules that are much stricter then public schools, 3- and most importantly...this thing called MONEY that is usually almost 4-7 thousand to attend these schools. Ego, Great post. You well-laid out the exact argument I have been pushing for years. What about the disadvantages private schools have? No one ever thinks of that for some reason. The three reasons you laid out are excellent. A good mark for you. [Edited by sportsfan0603 on 10-10-02 9:06A]
  25. Ezell-Harding doesn't even have a waiting list. You can come up to the front door, take a simple test and start class the next day. You seem to have this misconception that students are lining up and beating down the door to attend Ezell. You seem to think that there is a huge pool of applicants and only a few are chosen. Well, here's the reality: Ezell isn't the space program. It's not the Publisher's House Sweepstakes. Ed McMahon is not coming to your door to tell say, "you have been selected to go to Ezell!" No one is chosen. If you want to go, you can go. I really don't see how that is picking and choosing if anyone who has the financial means can attend. And by the way, why did you even ask the question when you already had your mind made up? [Edited by sportsfan0603 on 10-9-02 3:43P]
