the way they played the other night roger clemens couldn't have helped jasper. routine plays that should have been made simply were not. there is alot of talent however a couple of guys need to mature in order for them to be successful.

it will be very hard for walker valley to beat marion this season especially in the region tournament not because they don't have a good team but because they are AAA this season now on a totally different note tonight's game between grundy and jasper was by far the UGLIEST baseball game i believe i have ever watched. jasper give up six unearned runs with seven errors and grundy equaled them. in the end grundy was less ugly 10-9. congrats to grundy on finding a way to win on such a weird night.

Jasper beat Grundy 7-2. Jasper started slow with the bats then they came alive late. Top of the lineup pieced together some timely hitting to jump out to a 6-0 lead. Guess threw four innings only giving up a hit and then Sanders come in throwing smoke. I believe he struck out 8 of the last 9 batters. Excellent play made by the little RF Owenby and catcher Helm. Grundy pitched well and played good defense in the end they didn't put the bat on the ball enough. Same two teams tomorrow in Jasper. Should be a great game.

Yes, Lucas came in and closed the game out and if he is a better fisherman than baseball player lookout BASS masters. No they didn't throw the guy that throws 85-90 he must not have dressed out.

marion girls beat franklin co. in a great game 7-6. both teams played hard. congratulation to the girls and their coaches.

there alot good bats on the market, however easton bats seem to be more durable than other brands. they tend to crack and dent less than most.

jasper plays grundy on the mountain thursday at 6. then friday they play grundy at home at 6.

his name is jay sanders. he was the former coach of the jms football team. he also coached basketball at nj at one time. i believe it was back when nj beat fort payne playing the last quarter with only 3 players.

private schools do not have to play in private classification, unless they have student athletes who receive financial aid, in that case they must participate in the private divisions.

good luck with whoever they hire stone or phillips will do a good job. however they appear to be working on a state of the art weight room for the football team right where the gym is supposed to go

i think maybe we are over thinking things. instead of trying to change so many rules lets have clinics for coaches and players inorder to show the proper way to take a wild pitch. turn inside, tuck head and drop the bat head down. yes its going to hurt be if done properly it works. as coaches we must emphasize safety and technique both of which are not done enough by coaches today.

obviously he could have helped this team. however the world is not coming to an end either. teams shouldn't think just because he is not playing that it will be an easy win because there are many good players on this team. unfortunately for henegar he may be listening to too many outside sources. he is a good basketball player however his future probably would have been in baseball.

congratulations MARION, to both the girls and their coaches for perfoming so well under what has been unfortunate circumstances. now relax, keep up the good work and enjoy a great season.

marion vs. sequatchie should be great games this year. two good teams with two good coaches who know alot about baseball

unfortunately when dealing with situations such as having to cut players from a team you will never please everyone. someone is always going to be unhappy. coaches don't enjoy cutting players. from a coaches perspective i would put the best nine on the field no matter who they are or what grade they are in. after all isn't a coachs' performance graded on wins and losses? very few coaches are hired or keep for being nice or fair. i am not say that it is right that is however the way it works.
