Thanks. What teams were in it last year?

South Doyle is new to this division this year. What does IMAC stand for? Inter Mountain Athletic Conference. Just a guess.

Hey this is kinda odd. IMAC thread has a mention of a top pitcher at Cherokee by the name of Brandon Laster. Any relationship
  4. Not Busted Young Man. TOOO FuNNY!

What year is Laster? I assume this is the talented pitcher you speak of. What is the class breakdown of your team? Good luck this season except when you play THE Cherokees of South Doyle. GOOO KEEeeS!

Maybe Seymour needs to incorporate like Farragut did. Yes SD and Seymour open the regular season back to back March 15 and 16. How is your field doing? I seem to remember you all were redoing it, or parts anyway.

Are you all out for Pres day or for weather? How many days have you missed this year for weather? It seems like anytime snow is in the forecast Seymour is not going. I know Sevier County stretches into the mountain areas but good grief Seymour is really deep south Knox. Gooo Keeees!
  8. Monday is official start of TSSAA baseball. What tournaments will your team be playing in? The SD Cherokees are playing Pigeon Forge tourny March 18. Beaver Creek Classic March 24 and we are in Panama City for Spring Break starting March 29. Despite the cold and snow PLAY BALL! OH and GOOOO KEEEEEES! The schedule has us playing Oak Ridge, North Greene, Anderson County, and Gibbs in the Beaver Creek Classic. Any other teams heading to Panama City?
  9. You are in a very tough district, but there are only 6 teams in it. Pitching must be really deep to compete with this format, but it can only help you when playoff time arrives. Good luck and thanks for the answer. GO KEES!!!
  10. How does the three game format work in this district?

Interesting schedules for IMAC teams this year. Back to back games home and away with district teams Monday and Tuesday nights. This means teams will face ace only once I suppose. Also appears that Varsity will play and JV will follow in most of these games which is good for travel expenses but maybe not great for students being @ the ballfield later on a school night. What do yawl think? Oh and for the first time in 2010 GO KEES!!!
  12. Sorry all. I too went back and looked @ TSSAA site and saw that FB Class above a column. I did think that I had heard others around the baseball fields say that classifications would be the same as football changes. You know though, why would it change for only one sport? In looking at the top 16 teams in the super regionals for baseball this year only 4 would be in the 5A class for football and the other 12 would be 6A, and the breakdown in AA is just about the same. What that tells me is that the larger schools dominate in their respective divisions. Assuming that this is why football changed, Why not other sports? If you are a public school of say 2000 and your district foe has 1300 you should win most matchups with more arms to choose from. The 1300 school may have 2 aces, but the 2000 will probably have 4. Neverless there are changes this year in all sports and will change a lot of dynamics. GO KEES in all sports.
  13. From what I understand Catholic will play as a 5A team in the playoffs with West and Lenior City joining them and all the others will play as 6A. South Doyle, Central, Halls, and Powell will be other Knoxville teams playing 5A in the playoffs. South Doyle will be paired with Cherokee, Cocke County, Morristown East and West, and Seymour in 5A but will play 6A schools Jefferson County and Sevier County during the season. I got most of this from the TSSAA web site. I may not understand this correctly, but his is my interpretation. GO KEES!
  14. I think Farragut beat Bearden 3 out of 4. Thanks David for the rundown, but I must agree with previous post. Spring games are not a good indicator.
  15. Any word on games today. Wash out from morning storm?
  16. Thanks Solo-mon. So brackets do switch next game. Do you guys go to Bearden now? Did you see any of the SD/Farragut game?
  17. Any scores from Farragut or Bearden tonight. Thunderstorms rolled through South Knox a few minutes ago. GO KEES!
  18. Hey newbies last three posts you need to go and read board rules. Your immaturity is showing and I think the hammer is coming /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  19. South Doyle stands at 9-3 after win tonight and winning the Ooltewah tourny this weekend. GO KEES!

    sunglasses?

I have began to notice that several high schools fields run east to west and the sun for those 5:30 or 6 o'clock games are brutal on the outfielders. What kind of sunglasses work best for high school play and are there any rules about their use. Thanks for the info /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  21. South Doyle won 4-2 @ Sevier County tonight. Beautiful day for baseball. GO KEES!
  22. 2 years ago I would keep a pitch count for our Middle School team. Just for kicks I kept up with the opposing pitchers count also. Our coach would usually limit them to 80 pitches tops. More often than not opposing pitchers would pitch more than that. The highest pitch count I saw was 151 for a really good pitcher on the opposing team. I was told at that time that this kid often pitched like this a couple of times a week. I am still watching this kid to see if there will be any lasting problems, so far he seems OK. Time will tell.
  23. Too early to really tell. SD loaded with Juniors and Seniors. They had 4 seniors last year. GO Kees!
  24. South Doyle over Maryville 13-3.
