  1. Hard to go against a team that has been to Sectionals the last 2 years and won the district title as well. Don't sleep on the Patriots.
  2. Thanks patpride. Will be interested to hear scrimmage observations. Especially with Cleveland and Voytik
  3. Anyone have any practice/scrimmage updates? Would like to know how things are going,.

    IMAC Scores

Jeff Co beats West 8-7. Congrats to the Patriots on the championship. 30-3 record I believe.
  5. How does a tournament with that many teams work?
  6. Prospects include SS Bo Ausmus (signed w/ Carson-Newman), OF Joe Tipton (also CNC), OF Trey Potts (not sure about his college choice yet), and probably IF Jake Farr (who is a Jr. I believe). The Pats are full of talented players however, and this could be the year they get past Regions to the Substate. Only question mark for them this year should be pitching. I don't think they have much and that could hurt down the road. They will definitely be able to score runs this year with the lineup they have. Hopefully things will be MUCH less political, and the coach turns out to have his head on straight. He's off to a good start with the enthusiasm and facility improvements he has brought. Looking forward to a step in the right direction this year for the Patriots. Here's to a good season!
  7. I honestly think Region 1 has the edge this year. Jefferson Co. has beaten West (in a close game) but has not seen Farragut this year. West, however, is a very good team. Science Hill, as well as JC, seems to be a very athletic team and will match up well with most anyone. I'm tired of seeing Region 2 beat Region 1 every year (sans last year Mo West)so I'm hoping this is the year Region 1 pulls off the sweep. Whoever plays on the road will most definitely have a tough task at hand though.
  8. Isn't there a Cagle down in Georgia that is a high school head coach? And does Sorrels at Furman qualify even if he's just a coordinator?
  9. Anybody know anything on the Karns frosh team this season??
  10. You are right about the diversity part, especially the 3 dollar bill variety. I'm thankful to live in Jeff. Co. for that matter. And what does diversity have anything to do with football? Talent, not so sure about. We'll see come Friday. Till then, have fun hanging out at the Carousel.
  11. Brandon, you're a loser and need a life...bad
  12. Jeff. Co freshmen beat Knox West 18-6. No details other than the fact that Jc frosh only had 3 days to prepare having played DB Thursday and turned around to play Monday.
  13. I didn't see the grammatical error in the comment. Wrong usage there, try using shorter, more simple words to make a point and to avoid being called out on stupidity. And, come on, we live in the South and East TN, one of the most patriotic areas in the country. In no way was running on the field during the anthem on purpose. Embarrasing?? Oh yeah. Premeditated?? Of course not. Move on...both of you. Let's play some football.
  14. I only counted around 36 i believe. Don't know where the missing were. Hopefully we won't have the same problem as last year.
  15. I've got to agree with JC4life on this one. In high school football in this area, a short to medium range passing game can do wonders against a secondary. Curls, slants, hot passes, all of these should be implemented into every offense. Then, when you notice thos DB's creeping up, then you burn them deep. Sure, they aren't flashy but it moves the ball without much difficulty and one broken tackle can easily turn into 6 pts. for a playmaker. I've also noticed that well over half of the passes thrown by JC are play-action passes. If a team blitzes, then no, there is no way Gatlin is going to have enough time to carry out a fake and throw a pass with time to spare. IMO, things should be simplified for this team. Not go for the big one every time because a few little ones will soon add up to a big one with a much better chance of success. Like i said, this is just my opinion. There is a reason U is the coach and you gotta put your confidence in him whether you like his coaching or not. Best of luck to the Patriots this year!

Jefferson Co. Heritage Riverdale Siegel Mt. Juliet Brentwood Collierville Houston
  17. Farragut wins. Farragut always thrives in this game while D-B always chokes in the sectional game. Maybe their luck will change with Farragut instead of having to play Halls.
  18. Jeff. Co. won on Wed. night 3-2. This was a very good game. JC got on the board in the 1st, going up 1-0. Science Hill struck back with 2 in the bottom of the 4th I believe after a bizarre infield fly mishap. Then in the top of the 6th the bottom of the JC lineup pulled out 2 runs of their own to win it.
  19. Jeff. Co. beat Dobyns-Bennett 5-1 while Science Hill dominated Morristown West 10-0 in 5 innings. Poses a good match-up for the region title Wednesday in Johnson City.
  20. I'll give JC a vote. I think they'll make it interesting.
  21. 1AAA Science Hill came out in 2nd.
  22. Seymour and USJ rivals?? Make sure you look up "rival" in the dictionary. Have these two teams ever played?

Marshall to Tech?? Is he that good? And Marshall may want to go to CN but does CN want him? Marshall is a good pitcher but I do not think he is good enough to pitch at those two schools. He seems more of an NAIA pitcher to me. I'm not knocking the kid. I just don't think he is good enough for those two schools.
