Too many people do not realize the necessary schemes and preparation that are vital to be successful. People believe that you you can just "throw" a guy in there and get the job done. I wouldn't say Ward is an exceptional coach; he simply does what a coach SHOULD do. He understand schemes and, as a defensive guy, knows how to stop the offenses around him in area schools. Look at the Region they were in - Lewis Co., Adamsville, Riverside, Houston Co., Stewart Co., Richland, Loretto. Lewis Co. is the only quality team in that mix - because they have a good scheme and Bobby Sharp does what he SHOULD do. Some of those others - Richland, Loretto, Riverside, Houston Co - would be quality teams IF their coaches would put the time in the prepare and learn how to beat other people's schemes. Houston Co. has players - but their coaches are idiots. Riverside hired a Defensive Coordinator who was so bad he couldn't make the playoffs at a school that won the state in basketball. Now they (Camden) are in an even EASIER region - Riverside, Waverly, Adamsville, Houston Co., Stewart Co., and Huntingdon. Huntingdon is the only quality team in the mix and they aren't what they used to be. Do not take this to mean I'm saying Coach Ward isn't a good coach. My point is that it's easy to be a big fish in a small pond when the other fish aren't even trying or are too stupid.

I just heard a noise. Kinda sloshing sound. I believe it's Smith County and Goodpasture licking their chops. And Lewis County and Huntingdon and Milan and Hickman County. This is blood in the water for all those teams.

From what I have seen, Cornersville is about as good as they have ever been, and Mt. Pleasant isn't as good as they were last year. Unsure why Mt. P isn't better, they were supposed to be with the addition of the LB from Columbia Central. That said, they are still a good football team. I doubt Cornersville is in the game after the 1st quarter, as they don't have great team speed, but I believe Cornersville could challenge for a playoff spot. I saw them in the Marshall County jamboree and if they had left the first team in they would have beaten Loretto 35-0. They already beat CA and they will beat Zion and Perry County. They are good enough to beat Huntland. They always play Wayne County tough at home (and they probably won't mow the field to slow down WC). Moore County is also a beatable team for them. I don't see them beating Mt. P or Collinwood (I doubt Statom gets beat by the same offense he runs). Mt. Pleasant 41 Cornersville 20

I'd like to see those PC boys win. However, if they can't tackle like they couldn't against MTCS, uh-oh. Huntland is hard to predict because nobody talks about them (you can't even get cell phone service in Huntland. You take your phone out of your pocket and it laughs at you. So nobody has internet either). They always play hard and have great big brutalion linemen but talent is year-to-year. I once heard a funny joke about a town that was so far off in the boonies that they had their own time zone. Instead of getting to watch the Tennessee game on Saturday, folks had to wait until later and had to watch the UCLA or Oregon State game. Huntland is a place that reminds me of that joke.

Statom and Co are too good. EH's only chances for a win are Stewart Co and Loretto. Collinwood 56 East Hickman 0

Here's a hint at what's wrong with Riverside. An assistant coach was hired who had been the HC at Liberty. Liberty won the state in basketball. Liberty missed the playoffs in football. If you want your program to go forward, don't hire a coach who couldn't win at a place that was apparently LOADED.

Is Riverside really this bad? They aren't that far removed from beating a good Lexington team (was that 03 or 04?), but went 2-8 last year, only beating 0-10 Loretto and Stewart Co., who lost to GLEASON this past Friday. What is going on with the program? Besides Huntingdon (who is really down) and Camden, why could they not emerge from Adamsville, Waverly (who got donkey stomped by Wayne Co.), Houston Co., and Stewart Co. (already mentioned how bad they are)?

I'm saying that they were replaced out of fear of that happening. Sorry for not clarifying.
