In addition, a lot of refs complain about the amount of dissent they get from players. For teams I saw in the boys league last year, ill bet 6 /10 yellow cards were given for dissent, overcelebrating, or other such problems, NOT for fouls or bad tackels. While the players deserve cards for cursing or yelling at referees(both of wiitch ive seen), players should be allowed to plead their case to the referee without a card being shoved in their face(which ive also seen). I have personally never heard of a referee changing his mind but players can at least say they tried to give their point of views. No ones going to be happy with every call, but making the right calls might just possibly slow the number of player complaints. I dont like to harp on the referees, most of whom dont want to make mistakes and honestly try their best, but their is no excuse when a player is hurt by an illegal tackle on the pitch. A referees job is to prevent that by bunishing it when it hapeens. Every bad tackle that goes unchecked is a chance of a season ending injury to a innocent player.
