  1. Oakland should be stronger next year. Most of the defense returns and the main cogs of the offense return. They'll replace the QB and a couple of lineman, but they'll be a handful this season.
  2. Made more sense to leave them there to begin with. For the most part, I like the new layout, but there were some head scratchers.
  3. That's what I figured. Thanks for the confirmation.
  4. The TSSAA shows Jellico moving over to region 2, but their schedule here on the "T" says different. I'm assuming they originally were suppose to move to region 2 and petitioned to stay in region 1? I guess TSSAA hasn't updated that on their website?
  5. I shouldn't of said 'I know a couple of East Tennessee Coaches that have applied for jobs in the past who MAY have interest."?? I'm not sure most would consider that BREAKING NEWS. Come on man. This is a message board. People are allowed to make comments. Whether you deem them worthy of mention or not is out of my control.
  6. I don't know how all that stuff works. My point was, given Blackmans recent history, I'd need some assurances that I'd have ample time to turn things around before I agreed to take the job.
  7. Coaches don't want it known their looking elsewhere for jobs. Do you not remember the TC leak a few years back when they had a list of applicants?
  8. There are several successful lower classification Coaches who might be interested. Greg Ryan at Greenback, Jason Fitzgerald at Meigs County, Derrick Rang at GP to name a few. Whoever puts in for the job should ask for a longer than normal contract given the high turnover rate at the job. As long as Oakland is in the Boro, they'll be the team to beat and faculty at Blackman will have to accept that beating the Patriots will be the exception as opposed to the rule in that region.
  9. The win over Rhea County was very impressive. Anxious to see if the South Pitt games resumes.
  10. Yes, losing some key lineman and a great senior QB will be tough to replace for sure.
  11. Thanks for the info. I'll definitely be bumping them up tonight. I wasn't sure how much the loss of Surber would set the Rebels back.
  12. Swenson will have them coached up, I'm sure. He lost practically everyone that had an offensive stat off last year's team, so I wasn't sure how long it would take them to mature. Union City is a mystery to me, but probably deserve to be there. 2A is much like 4A. Alot of teams that probably were left out, but who do you push out to replace them with?
  13. I live close to Bell Buckle. My kids went to Cascade years ago. Now my Grandkids attend Community. I've got alot of buddies over in South Pitt. Good luck to you guys this season!
  14. The top 6 guys on your HUDL account and 8 of the top 9 (including stud Jalen Hunt) were seniors. That was the basis for my positioning of the team. I really don't have alot to go on especially since you guys got screwed out of the post season last year. I like the program and hope to see you guys do well. Just a lot of unknown for me over here in Middle Tennessee.
  15. That could be a reach, but they've got a ton of kids back including many of their lineman. They drop down from 4A and that side of the bracket isn't as strong this year with some power teams like Milan moving up. It's gonna be an interesting post season in 3A on the West side of the state this year.
  16. Appreciate the input brother! That's why I put this out early so you guys can fill me in on what I don't know. With the new classes and so much happening last year with Covid forfeits and stuff, this has been the toughest season to gauge who has what coming back. I've watched alot of Hudl video, but covering 300 teams and NOT missing something is really tough to do. Especially when it's just a part time hobby. I really rely on you guys to keep me in the loop on teams out of my area.
  17. You maybe right. McKenzie lost some great players and I wasn't sure about Lake County. That's why I put this out so early hoping to generate some discussion. Appreciate the input.
  18. What about Fulton and Creekwood??? That's the problem with this class. About 20 quality teams that on any other season would be worthy of top ten status! Whoever wins this class may be in conversation with Oakland, Maryville, and Alcoa as the best in the State.
  19. I've put out a preliminary top 15 in each class to generate some discussion. The new classifications has made it especially hard this year! We'll be "adjusting" these positions over the next couple of months as spring camps begin and we have more data to judge teams with: https://fridaymainevent.com/top-fifteen/
