  1. I heard that the game got out of control and 4 technicals were given out. If this is true, what happened?
  2. Is this not what the football team got in trouble for by inviting local middle school students to spring practice?
  3. The player you are referring to is a sophmore. He is ineligible b/c he played at Ringgold last year but lives in a subdivision that is zoned for Georgia or Tennessee. His parents shopped him around all summer and settled on Silverdale, mostly b/c his sister graduated from there.
  4. If Temple finishes in the top 3 in district 5A there are some coaches who did a very poor job.
  5. The TSSAA blew this hardship. There are many more cases in this state who should be eligible before this girl. But it is what it is. Not much the TSSAA ever does has been well thought out.
  6. Interesting pick on the Silverdale game since SBA has never beaten Grace and the last couple of years haven't even been close. Good luck continuing the streak of people picking SBA.
  7. Actually you have to pay the fine AND sit out games. It says so right there in part B. The vague part is how many games. That is not spelled out well at all.
  8. Another issue many of you are not aware of is that the officials have to report the ejection to TSSAA. If it is unreported you don't have to sit. Coach Marcum tried to contact TSSAA to find out if the incident had been reported and they did not return his call b/c it was around the Thanksgiving holidays. When he finally did get an answer from TSSAA he sat the next game. If you read the TSSAA website the number of games penalty is a little unclear, and it's hard to tell what applies to players and what applies to coaches. Besides, the TSSAA has more important things to worry about, like how many shirt tails are hanging out during games. Those are the points of emphasis they are most concerned with. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I have heard his name along with several others. I don't think anything will come of this any time soon.
  9. After being ejected from a game earlier this year he mistakenly only sat out one game. So to make up for that he had to sit the other night.
  10. They don't join TSSAA because they take a lot of transfers from local schools. If they are not members then those kids can play right away rather than having to sit out by TSSAA transfer rules. A number of their players are only there for a short time so they would not benefit from having transfers sitting out.
  11. Due to a transfer SBA will have a decent frontcourt, but no guards with varsity experience will hurt them in the end.
  12. Judging from summer games and camps and early practices, who will be the starting five?
  13. Actually SBA has been a TSSAA member for 4 seasons, but have had varsity football for 7. Before joining TSSAA they played in an independent conference that had schools in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
  14. Word is that Aaron Sterzik (FB), Edgar Montgomery (TB) and Bautista (LB) are all injured and won't play this Friday. Anyone know if this is accurate?
  15. Has no one seem them? Has no one seem them?
  16. Has anyone seen FRA this fall? With all their coaching changes just wondering what they are running on offense and defense now.
  17. David Brainerd did not win the the district. They tied Grace for first. Split regular season so they have to use tie-breakers to decide tournament seeding. Those tie breakers do not make DB district champs.
  18. We all need to be praying for Silverdale's Chris Goodine. He has been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer, and he begins chemotherapy this week. You never want to see anything like this happen to any family, but most of all you hate to see it happen to a child. Chris has a great spirit and knows that God will be faithful through this trial. Please be praying for Chris and his family.
  19. [before Carter McMasters chose Liberty he had narrowed it down to Liberty and UTC. Coach Shulman did make an offer. I think the UTC staff does a great job recruiting Chattanooga. UTC is very lucky to have a coach the caliber of John Shulman. The reality is there aren't that many D-1 prospects in Chatt. Most of the players you mentioned like Ricks and Taylor are not legit D-1 kids. They would make very good D-2 or NAIA players, but they are not what a D-1 coach is looking for. I saw both players play several times, and they are good athletes. However, good athletes are easy to come by. D-1 coaches are looking for intangibles, such as a great shooting stroke, physical size or above average leaping ability combined with long arms. There aren't many players like that in Chattanooga. quote name=t-mac' date='Apr 11 2008 - 06:31 PM' post='826760619] By accepting a scholarship for academics and being a walkon I have to tip my hat to Hampton. Honestly Shulman should look at this kid and respect him wanting to stay home because he could have went else where and if I were him I wouldve left the city but he is a Man and is staying because of his obligation to his family. UTC should recruit more in the city but I dont understand why. Can anyone tell me. Hampton is good and could help their program but I think Shulman should have looked at others in the area. McMasters, Jurick, Ricks, Taylor, Hampton should all have gotten scholarships from UTC. I dont think Jurick will do anything at Tennessee and He is a better fit for the UTC program. Its like UTC recruits the kids in the area who are destined to fail. I really questioned the signing of Idris Harper because during that time he played for a mediocre City High team and wasnt better than Johnny Goodman or Willie Lucas who played the same position as Harper. Jeff Smith was signed and I really couldnt tell you why. I wish Hampton the best of luck but and continue being a role model for your younger brother
  20. Josh Blake at Grace Academy is being looked at by several colleges. He also just posted the fasted 40 time out of over 1,000 kids at the Nike Combine in Columbus, Ohio.
  21. At no point has anyone used time in practice to work on this stuff. Most of it gets made up on the spot. It's not real complicated. For everyone who says it is "Bush League" what do you say to the Boston Red Sox pitching staff who are all making millions of dollars, and sit in the bullpen playing utensils and pots and pans. They are very organized and even play in UNISON. What a horrible thing that they would play and have fun during the game.

Have you been to Grace's field in the last two years? It has been drastically upgraded, and helped host the Ooltewah Invitational last year. Every team there said it was one of the best fields they played on all year. Adairsville High's coach said his pitchers loved the mound and wished they could pitch on it every day.
  23. The first round game is at the higher seed's gym. The semis and finals are at Temple University.
