  1. I'll stay Stewie rides the momentum of a 49-0 win to a 29-17 win at Antioch. And what is up with LHS? They were supposed to challenge Indy for a region title and now they are not even a playoff team. And they still have losses to Indy and Summit left to go. Their season is quickly going down the toilet.
  2. Is the game at Blackman? And if it is, do they still utilize a "karaoke girl" - ?? And if they do still have one, does she still butcher Bon Jovi songs?
  3. Maybe that private school is cutting into the talent level? Nobody else willing to go on record with a score prediction?
  4. I noticed in the Sonny Moore ratings that Columbia Academy is ranked quite a bit higher than Central. Is their ability to get more better athletes recently adding to the demise of CCHS football right now? Also, does anybody know what the injury situation is at Creek? The DNJ never updated it.
  5. SC riding the momentum of a big win over LHS... but not sure what the injury situation is over there. The DNJ was sort of vague about that in the recap. Plus you can come out flat after a good win. It's homecoming at Stewie iirc, so I'll say even with a flat start... SC 42 - CCHS 20
  6. By the way, the DNJ said Bailiez didn't play for SC. Do you know what his injury is or how long he is out?
  7. OMG! You called it. The rest of us get a big plate of crow for brunch. Congrats Stewie!! Great win! #FearTheBeak #TheCreekIsRising
  8. I wish I could agree but they had so many turnovers and penalties against Franklin County, it could have been a 50-0 win if they actually did play disciplined ball. And remember that Overton hasn't won since they beat Stewie by a bunch, so maybe Overton is not world beaters either... it's just that SC played that bad that night. Columbia Central and Shelbyville should be convincing wins for SC and the games against Antioch and Lincoln County will decide how the season is remembered. Summit dropped 71 on Shelbyville, so I'm not overly optimistic about that game. However, other than Indy... the season does get easier after the LaVergne game.
  9. Both coming off big wins vs non-impressive competition. LHS by 35-17 based on the ability to break a handful of big plays. Congrats to Stewie on the shutout over Franklin County on the road. School's first shutout win.
  10. Sonny Moore's computer ratings says SCHS by around a TD. However they gave up 106 points in two games so far (vs very good competition) so it will interesting to see how they do in more of a "fair fight." I would stop short of predicting a Stew Creek win until their "defense" shows they can stop somebody.
  11. I hope Dr. Harrell will consider "some changes" at SC. David Martin is a great guy but that wing-t and uninspired arm-tackling/out of position defense has to go. The next few seasons will not be good, so a new coach would have time to rebuild with a different plan of action if needed. It's obvious that this team that some predicted to finish second behind Indy and was supposed to be a lock for the playoffs is not anywhere near that. And a newer school doesn't need to be scheduling Smyrna, Overton, Ravenwood.
  12. If SCHS stops turning it over all the time and runs the offense at the speed the wing-t is supposed to be run at and starts form tackling instead of arm tackling... Smyrna still wins 31-13. If SCHS plays the way they did last week, Smyrna 56 - SCHS 7 (I pull for the RedHawks and hope they read this and that it pi55es them off and they play a tough focused game.. would love to eat crow over the prediction)
  13. I agree. Unfortunately. If Creek has to return to 6a next year, they should stop scheduling the Overtons of the world and go for Glencliff, Hillwood, Tullahoma, etc as available. And playing Ravenwood the first two seasons was ridiculous.
  14. He is a senior and has been a backup QB (I think) since the school was built (?) I'm not sure some players (I won't name) showed back up in shape. Coach Martin said something interesting in the newspaper before the season. quote: "We still have some things we have to overcome," Martin said. "We still have some seniors that are still not consistent in their work habits." http://www.dnj.com/story/sports/high-school/2016/07/21/forget-rising-stewarts-creek-football-has-risen/87383910/ This was supposed to be a really good season and may end up being a rebuilding season before the next few really really rebuilding seasons.
  15. Unfortunately, this probably won't be a very close game. Creek lost more than people wanted to admit from last year. Some quick athletic line guys with tons of experience... a very good TE... really good WR/DB/KR... QB who is good enough to be in the OVC now... This would have been the year to ditch the wing-t offense. They didn't. It will be a struggle to go 5-5 and maybe make the playoffs. Hope they prove me wrong but...
  16. At McGavock or at Stewie on Monday (weather permitting)?
  17. Do you know who Stewie will scrimmage and where and when between now and the jamboree?
  18. Unfortunately Stewie lost more than people realize. The QB is at Jacksonville State, the WR/KR is at Austin Peay plus lost a couple of big veteran line guys and the towering tall TE and the only placekicker the school ever played. That doesn't mean they can't finish second in 5-5a but lots of things will have to fall into place for that to happen. Barring major injury issues, they should be almost a lock for a winning season AND a playoff spot. Another win against Overton in the first week would be a big step.
  19. Still to be in middle TN covering sports, but who will cover Rutherford? It's the end of an era. What's next? Karaoke Girl being discontinued? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyjgUeXdYx8
  20. What's up with that? Didn't want to hear karaoke girl try to sing Bon Jovi in the 3rd quarter?? (j/k)
  21. Boys basketball? As if Smyrna's boys basketball was ever going to make it out of the district... much less make the state tourney? LOL! The same day karaoke girl gets to sing with the real Bon Jovi.
  22. Oakland must contain Perkins. They can't let him have a 200 yard; 3td game like he just had. If they limit him to 100 yards and 1 td, Oakland will win by several scores.
  23. That's right fellow right wing fundamentalist. When the bush-2 bunch was losing 800,000 or 900,000 jobs per month toward the end, it was because of all those lazy people all quit their job. The jobs disappeared because nobody would apply for one. Not because of an economic collapse. Just ask fox news or limbaugh. And then when Obama got elected they all must have decided to go back to work, just to make bush-2 look even worse because all of a sudden there was jobs again and unemployment has been dropping ever since. Those dang sneaky tree-huggers.
  24. Oh, I knew it alright. Playing both sides of any issue is part an parcel of being a true far-right fundamentalist tea-party patriot. Watch and learn... "I can't stand that there NBC. They are the biggest sell-out to the tree-hugger lame-stream media I ever did see. That's why I only ever watch fox news! Yissirree, 100% fox news for me!" **************************************************************** ONE MISSISSIPPI ... TWO MISSISSIPPI ... THREE MISSISSIPPI... ***************************************************************** "That there NBC sure is smart. Giving trump a free 90 minute infomercial disguised as a comedy/variety show! That shows NBC is looking out for the U S of A and not that there Mexico. Shows they got their priorities in order. You gotta respect NBC for that."
  25. You are against capitalism? You and that Bernie Sanders socialist person? One of the best parts of being a far-right fundamentalist patriot, I can praise the same things I can condemn five minutes from now and almost nobody will notice what it was I did. I can be the defender of big corporations at noon and condemn them at 12:10 as needed.
