  1. Don't worry about it. Everyone tends to get a bit defensive on here, and with good reason alot of the time. Actually, I heard the same thing. It had something to do with losing players to other teams, I think. You can't always believe what you hear, and it's always best to check something out if you can. I'm looking for a new select team also, so this is good info for me, too. What are the other teams that I need to be looking at?
  2. Predictions on District matchup scheduled for 05/03/06?
  3. That's good to hear, but I don't want them to get it turned around while playing Riverdale!
  4. Two of the players will be attending the World Cup in Germany during the State Cup, two other players will be playing with another team, and three others quit completely. We just don't have enough players to participate. The past couple of years have been filled with so many changes in our team (different coaches, different coaching styles, different formations, etc) that it has been difficult to make the kind of progress that we had intended. The opportunities to learn and develop as an individual have been there, but coming together as a team and winning tournaments is hard to do when you're changing so many contributing factors. There has been some talk of combining the 89's and the 90's to form a new team for the coming season, but I don't know if that's a definite. Those of us that are serious soccer players may be trying out for different teams in the mid-state area this summer, with those that are ready to 'call it a day' doing just that. How are the other 90 D-1 and D-2 teams looking for next season?
  5. I don't really know. They're a good team, but maybe they've just had some bad luck here and there. Not that I'm complaining or anything.....
  6. I highly recommend the Ralph Lundy Soccer Academy in Gainesville, GA. It's a college showcase camp and is limited to elite players only. It is by far the best camp out there if you are serious about soccer. You play soccer against top-level competitors from sunup to sundown every day with no free time, but that's what you pay for, right? I have attended the Vanderbilt Soccer Academy for a couple of years. It's in-state, relatively inexspensive, and pretty good overall. However, this is the last year it will be available. I attended the UAB Elite camp last summer, and it was a total waste of time and money. We had an incredible amount of free time to swim or whatever. I go to camp to learn soccer, not for recreational purposes, so this was a waste. This year I am attending the Ralph Lundy camp again, as well as a university camp, although I'm not certain of which one. I am looking into Duke and Indiana. Does anyone have a review of either of those? I am also looking into the Tahuichi Camp in Bolivia. Has anyone here been through that program?
  7. I agree. Jas does deserve some recognition. Housccr, are you a player, parent, coach, or 'other'?
