  1. Probably none of them. They're basing their predictions, like everyone else does, on others who LOST to these two teams saying awwww they weren't all that...
  2. Yeah I guess you are right. Riverdale certainly didn't feel McMinn out in the first half... they owned them in the first half, which is pretty good for only possessing the ball 20% of the game. And if by "possession" you mean attempting to dribble the ball all the way down the field without passing until the ball is stripped away from you and cleared by one of the best defenses in Middle Tenn, then yes they didn't do anything that required "possession." But if you mean making good clean passes and FINISHING, then I'd say they possessed pretty well. BTW, I'm pretty sure BlackmanSoccerDad was there too and saw the same game you did.
  3. Jose said last night that he was feeling ok and he was walking so I think only wild horses can keep him off the field on Wed. And you'll be surprised to hear that Jasper has been wearing bigger shinguards this season than the "silver dollar" shinguards he is famous for. Not much bigger, but bigger. GO WARRIORS
  4. For anyone concerned, Jasper is not broken after that hit in the second half. Just his shinguard. He will be taped up and ready to play on Wednesday, and he will be wearing brand new shinguards! GO RIVERDALE WARRIORS
  5. That Sweeper keeper thing sure worked out well for them last night against Riverdale. That kid was put in simply to throw his weight around. He did nothing to help his team. He kept forgetting that he wasn't allowed to catch the ball when he was at the half line, and when it looked like he was going to get beat he would just foul the attacking player and run back to the goal to get ready for the free kick. (That is assuming the ref actually blew the whistle.) As far as I'm concerned, they would have stood a better chance of winning had they kept their real keeper in and just played better soccer, rather than trying some lame "trick play."
  6. Goals: Jasper Driskill, Sophomore - 1; Shayne Rollins, Senior - 2
  7. Oh right I guess we are making predictions again for another Riverdale vs Cookeville game. It seems like we just played them last week. Riverdale will win with a shut out. Riverdale 3 Cookeville 0
  8. The problem is if one team's fans think the ref made a good call, the other team's fans think he's a moron. Those refs can't catch a break!
  9. Riverdale 3 Shelbyville 0 Even? Riverdale owned!
  10. Exactly, and I'd also like to ask if anyone can tell me exactly where in the TSSAA 2005-2006 rules it actually mentions artificial noisemakers being prohibited, because I can't find it. Thanks!
  11. I think you are talking about the high pitched canned air type horns that I don't want. The ones I am talking about are very low pitched and definitely would not be confused with the officials' horns. In fact, I've seen them at some of the play off games already, so I don't think confusion should be an issue.
  12. Hey, this may seem a little off subject since I'm not technically talking soccer, but does anybody know where I can get my hands on one of those deep fog horns that you see people in the stands with at all the pro games? I'm not talking about those canned air type horns but the long ones that you blow just like a regular horn. And please no "I think you can get them here..." I've been hearing that all day in my quest to find one, but if you know for sure, please let me know. I'd love to get my hands on one by next week. Thanks!!
  13. Great, you guys do what you gotta do and we'll do what we gotta do and you're invited to our house next week for the regional final!! Good luck against Tullahoma!!
  14. Just wanted to say great game to all our Riverdale boys and congratulations. And thank you to all the great fans of both teams who came out and braved the chilly rain to see two great teams compete for the district title. It's nice to have a good soccer crowd! I have a feeling we'll see yall again very soon, Cookeville. Maybe next week!! GO WARRIORS!!
