  1. Way to go Owls. Conditioning certainly showed in the second half of each of the games. Owls seemed to have one more run in them when the other teams started to flag. April 13 Greeneville - CPA (5pm) lower field 2-1 Ooltewah - Randolph - (5pm) upper field Southeast Whitfield - Science Hill - (7pm) upper field April 14 CPA - CCS (9am) upper field Randolph - Greeneville - (10am) lower field 3-2 Ooltewah - Science Hill (11am) upper field CCS - Southeast Whitfield (1:00 pm) upper field 1-5 Greeneville - Ooltewah (3:00 pm) upper field Science Hill - CPA (3:00 pm) lower field
  2. Anyone have a game report on the Nashville Overton vs Brentwood upset?
  3. 5AAA district championship Ooltewah vs McMinn County Thu 5/12 7PM at McMinn
  4. Has discussion moved to some other board? The players and fans used to start some of the best discussions here. Just a guess but some of that may have moved to Facebook.
  5. On the general question of quality of refs my only observation would be that yes we seem to be seeing younger referees. I can't say if they are making better or worse calls. I don't envy them. It seems to me that both players and coaches talk back to referees a lot more today then they did even eight years ago. I do respect and appreciate the ref's efforts even when I'm bemoaning the fact they just missed a call that was obvious to me cause I'm watching one thing and he was watching another. One question: Is there a site to review what red or yellow cards were given in a particular game? I wasn't able to attend the Bradley vs Ooltewah game on 5/4 at Bradley. Second hand I've heard that the Bradley coach was asked to leave the area of play and play did not resume until he had driven away. Does that mean he was given a red card?
  6. article Timesfreepress.com Really a shame that these guys personal records are messed up like this.
  7. I'm not sure but Jimmy Lessentine was assisting at some games... Lessentine has a write up on the Chattanooga United page http://www.chattanoogaunitedsoccer.com/boycoach.html Hands full or not John is a great coach IMO.

  10. Regarding the playing of games at another location (ie a Recreational Park like Redoubt Soccer). I would think there is the issue of liability. If a high school athlete is forced to travel in their own vehicle, for a school sponsored event (practice or game), and is injured enroute, isn't the school partially or even completely liable. One serious accident and the school could be facing a law suit that would cost a lot more than a soccer field. I'm no lawyer, they may not have any liability. Our Soccer Booster club working with ChristWay Baptist church and with the help and sometimes hindrance of the Hamilton County School Board managed to get our girls a practice field with in walking distance of the high school. It only took about 3 years, but from what I observed Tuesday night they still seem to be playing regular season home games at Redoubt. I can't tell you how many times during my daughter's four years in HS soccer we were told we couldn't play or practice on the OHS field because it was: A. A football field B. In a football stadium C. Bad timing as there was a football game in whatever number of days and 22 girls in cleats were going to destroy all the work that had gone into making the field look good. Hope things improve for you, but I wouldn't count on it. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  11. Just got this email... So I guess Ooltewah and Cleveland are Soddy bound again.... /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Could you throw out some of that sand a little earlier MVM? /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  12. Just got a call from my daughter that they called the game, too much water. Wish they could have figured that out before all these inexperienced drivers drove all the way over there. Yeesh...
  13. I guess we will get to see who's girls are better in the mud. 100% chance of rain, with light to heavy showers 10/23/2007 2AM - 11PM according to weatherunderground.com Soddy doesn't have a terrible field or anything but it doesn't drain very well. 1. I hope they can safely get the game in. 2. I hope the conditions don't contribute to any injuries 3. I hope there is a great game between two highly skilled and competitive teams. Go Lady Owls! If Ooltewah and Cleveland rip up the field, Soddy and McMinn County will have a great time at 7 /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  14. Was ND's starting keeper in goal? She and her backup did a great job in their game against us, but I'd heard that what we thought was a cramp that sidelined her in our game was actually a knee injury. The Irish are so deep, it probably won't matter. I was just wondering. Our GK is recovering from the pounding her hands took in that game btw. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  15. Ooltewah JV 1 vs Cleveland JV 1 Great job girls and thanks for all the rowdy support for the Varsity game!
  16. USA Today soccer injury story link or Soccer injury article link Here's to praying for high quality, but safe play and as few injuries as possible. Healing prayers for those already injured too. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  17. Who hosts districts if District 6 : Soddy-Daisy, Chatt Central, Ooltewah, Red Bank SD and Ooltewah tie 0-0 SD beats Chatt Central 3-0 and Ooltewah beats them 7-0 (But the shut outs are equal and they only count up to a max 3 goal differential or so I've been told) so this is equal too? SD beats Red Bank 4-0 What happens if Ooltewah also manages to shut out and beat Red Bank say 4-0 next Tuesday? I am just wondering about this hypothetically and no one is assuming what the result of that game will be. What is the next thing they compare, to see who gets to host the District game? /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  18. I missed the Friday night game against Siegel, but from what I've heard from the girls, my wife and the other OHS parents I have to agree with RAFN, that Ooltewah came out flat and had a difficult time getting themselves going. The only real reason I've heard for how the OHS girls played was that due to a freaky screw up they didn't get the girls fed that afternoon till 25 minutes or so before they were supposed to be on the field warming up. What can you do? Stuff happens! I can't speak for Siegel's play but they obviously had the skills, put in the effort, made the plays they needed to and deserved the win. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  19. Just to be clear Sept 18th Ooltewah lost 4-0 to Farragut So they were 2-2-0 for the week... ...and yes it was a tough week with injuries, talented, physical opponents, some great and not so great play.... and that age old lesson was relearned. Wait more than 2 hours after eating to play Siegel /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  20. So it was Siegel 3-0-0 Ooltewah 2-1-0 Brentwood Academy 1-2-0 CCS 0-3-0 Thank you to Siegel for hosting a great little tourny. Congratulations on your wins. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  21. Lady Patriot Home School 1 vs Ooltewah JV 0 Good game for both. The Patriot's Defensive backs were impressive.
  22. Wish our JV girls could have gotten in on this, but the JV coach is the Varsity assistant coach and the Varsity is Nashville bound to play siegel and Brentwood Academy this weekend. Best of luck to all looks like a good group of teams. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  23. Thanks for the ranks Chasanooga.... The Lady Owls (20th overall) have a fun and exciting week ahead... (read that as anything that doesn't kill you makes you stronger /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ) Tuesday Farragut 7th overall @OHS Thursday CCS 6th in AA/A Nashville tournament @OHS Friday siegel 15th overall Nashville tournament Saturday Brentwood Academy 6th overall Nashville tournament Here's hoping everyone stays healthy and un-injured. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
