  1. I believe I said that none of the underclassmen that are left on the team contributed this year. Seth Wadley is gone, Joey Skogen will be gone, Mitch Beard I hear will be gone, and I also heard Gideon Rankin will be leaving. That's all im saying but like you said you have your perspective and I have mine.
  2. That's right the 7 underclassmen that were there last night deserve some credit I guess! You really have to be kidding, to think that the underclassmen that are returning to Temple next year had anything at all to do with the success of this season. None of them had any significant playing time. None. So yes i do think that announcing the head coach for next season last night was uncalled for and it should not have happened. I feel sorry for the players for next year because Im not sure the coach or the administration realizes what they are getting themselves in to.
  3. Why would they announce the new football coach at a banquet that was supposed to celebrate this year's team? I mean wouldn't it have been a little more appropriate to announce this next week! From what I heard it took away from the banquet, but that's just what i heard!
  4. Im not sure what you are talking about. Joey Skogen has hardly any varsity experience at all and had he stayed at Temple he still wouldn't have played a whole lot. Temple has two really good shooters that come off the bench, they are young but they can shoot. I just think its ironic that everyone wants to down Temple when they are playing well right now and have a very good ball team.
  5. Seth Skogen will finish out the year he will be redshirting his entire first year at Furman anyways. He will finish the entire school year and graduate with everyone else in May.
  6. I have spoken with the coaches before about their kids tuition and neither one of them received tuition for free for their kids.
  7. I know it to be a fact that Coach Skogen advised Dr. Pearson and Dr. Bouler (Pastor of the Church) to do away with the football program after this year, because the numbers just weren't going to be there. In my opinion that would have been the smartest thing to do, because folks lets just face it, they won't even beat David Brainerd next year, and it will be a long while before they win a game period. But that's not even the main point, the kids they are going to put on the field will be in danger physically and more than likely they will not have enough players to finish the year. I am not bein mean I am just being honest, the coaching staff is not at fault in this situation, I believe the fault lies higher up than the coaches.
  8. You really are an idiot, I guess that's why Coach Wadley taught at Temple for 25 years and spent the majority of the years coaching the girls team? I guess he did all of that to "promote" his kids. And I guess Coach Skogen who doesn't get paid by the way, should continue to coach and take time away from his full time position as a pastor to coach this team. Coach Skogen had alread told the administration that he wasn't coaching anything after this year, so I mean they already knew that. Coach Skogen and Coach Beard are doing what is best for their families and I respect them for that, and anyone with any sense would feel the same way.
  9. It should be interesting at Unaka's Christmas tournament, I believe Temple is coming up there to play Cloudland and Unaka. This should be a good test for all teams involved.
  10. Shouldn't you be more concerned with your games this weekend? And shouldn't you be concerned with how or if you can beat Temple next week? Just a thought!
  11. I know it to be a fact that Coach Skogen will be the coach of this basketball team for the remainder of this season and that this year's basketball team will be very good. Greg Brown is his assistant this year and will do a very good job helping Coach Skogen. To many people outside of the Temple family are worried about what is going on. This basketball team is very good and Coach Skogen will do a good job through out the year. By the way Joey Skogen is injured right now, he got hurt the last week of football and cannot play basketball for 4 weeks.
  12. Temple defeated 21st Century by about 20 last night. They led the whole game and had the lead up to 30 before Coach Skogen put the subs in. Temple looked pretty good to have only practiced for a week. I expect them to get better with time.
  13. Relax everybody I mean temple hasn't even played a game yet and you guys act like they have completely fallen apart! At least give these guys a chance to prove who they are and what they can do before you start saying they are going to "implode". Good luck tonight to the Crusaders!
  14. Dee made the right decision and everything is going to be fine at Temple. Yes there have been some changes over the past year and I don't see this having a "major" affect on this year's team. I am not sure what the status will be after this year but this year's team will be solid with good senior leadership and quality underclassmen. You'll see!
  15. I think that it will take Temple about 3-4 weeks before they fully get into the swing of things. I think the schedule will help early, other than the game at Arts and Sciences, that should be a pretty tough game. By January I think that Temple should be rolling pretty good. I haven't seen these new kids play so I don't know about them but the talent is there from last year. My son informed me that Seth Wadley has withdrawn from Temple and will be attending McCallie. I hate to hear this Seth is a good young man and did a great job for the basketball team. He wasn't the best scorer but he did a lot of the little things that go unnoticed. I wish him lots of luck at McCallie. By the way when is Temple's first game, i have heard next Tuesday or next Friday, im not real sure though?
  16. Kind of the way you dealt with East Ridge last night????
  17. Yeah they should have just practiced 3 times and then went up to Pickett County for the heck of it. Seriously I think the following week is much more important to Temple because they have 2 district games to prepare for. Im sure that they would rather have two good days of practice this weekend instead of going to play 2 games they aren't prepared for. You should just worry about your CSAS team because Temple will be over there in just a couple of weeks I think. I promise they aren't scared of you!
  18. Temple's administration needs to take a long hard look at their development guy! He is about to get the athletic program into a lot of trouble! I mean who does this guy think he is going to the Chattanoogan.com and telling them that the school is expecting about 12 new recruits/transfers for next year's football team. I mean that's not going to send out a red flag to the TSSAA. I mean this guy has been pulling bone head moves all year and it's his first year at the school, and this is just ridiculous. It's a shame that a quality athletic program is being run into the ground by a guy who thinks he knows a lot more than he really does.

  20. Temple will be hurting the most because they are losing their entire starting lineup! They have nobody returning with any experience next year, it will be a long time before Temple wins another football game.
  21. Just wanted to wish all of the boys from Temple good luck in the game tomorrow night. I will be there pulling for you guys to pull out the victory. I think if Temple comes out fast and focused they can and will win this ballgame. I think it might come down to Temple's defense making enough plays to win the game. Good luck, Go Crusaders! My prediction is: Temple 32 Friendship 21
  22. Temple's Boys team is not going to Pickett County due to the fact they are still in the playoffs in football! Just letting everyone know that!
  23. I heard they only have 6 or 7 players right now who aren't playing football and a couple of those I think are ineligible for varsity play. I know they cancelled their HOF games and are looking to reschedule some of their early games. Temple won't be back in the swing of things until mid January, hopefully they will have to reschedule all of their games up until December 1, and bring home a state championship in football!
  24. Just keep talking possum, people like you have been talking like this all year! The Crusaders have been doubted since day 1 and I want everyone to know, Temple will come in to Lebanon expecting to win the game, not because they are cocky but because they believe in each other. It's one game at a time, and I promise you Temple will be prepared for anything and everything Friendship has to offer. I will give my prediction later in the week.
  25. Im not sure if I will be at the pre game meal tomorrow or night. I have a busy day tomorrow, but im sure the players and the coaches will welcome your company. Hopefully the food they serve won't cause any reactions similar to the one you had last weekend!
