Ok I have heard about all the bull i can stand. First of all, do you know what was said to the players by Coach Monroe??? Do you actually think he is saying"don't worry guys I'll protect you from the bad policemen??? Are you CRAZY. I did get a chance to talk to him this week and he was VERY VERY UPSET. He had to review the tape numerous times go to Ridgeland and talk to people, talk to numerous detectives talk to ALL his boys involved over and over. The two main culprits were boys he himself kicked off the team at the first of the year. Seniors that were good players that he got rid of. He is now playing ALOT of sophmores. You have no right and no idea what you are talking about and DONT insult the character of a man who has a good reputation. Do you think Coach Monroe just wants to win ballgames??Are do you think he actually might be close to his players and doesn't want to make a mistake of kicking kids off and ruining there lives if they are innocent. Should they have gone down there?? NO Will he get to the bottom of this YES. I really don't know how the game will go tonight but I don't hink the players have been focused at all. hard to practice with detectives watching practice. I don't think coach Monroe has had much time to get together a great gameplan either. I am not sure there heads will be in the game. this is all sad cause I was hoping this game would be like it should have been. Two great teams battling for a region game. I'll pick with my heart and pick Owls by seven. I'll pick with my head and say WB by 2 tds.

I am very back in forth on this game. I don't think WB beating Ooltewah would be an UPSET. Not to most of the realistic people. I do think the Owls are capable of pulling this one out. The experience of the WB team is huge! The Ooltewah Owls will be much better later in the year. Yes there are SEVERAL sophmores playing in key positions. ONE being QB. I think our secondary is much better this year. I just wouldn't want to HAVE to predict the outcome. I say GO OWLS and good luck. We have really played 2 games and that is it! Lots of talent on this team not much experience. I aree with you. I don't think the outcome has anything to do with how many people show up at the Maryville game. They will all come regardless. I'd LOVE to see WB win that one cause I know they can.

Yeah some things never do change! Spoken by a true William Blount fan. It is amazing how we were at Mcminn and the refs even helped us huh? You are retarded. The call was legit. The main thing I have to say about this game is the Owls looked young and inexperienced. Yes Brady made some mistakes at quarterback but this is the second game he has ever played in high school as a starting QB. GIVE ME A BREAK! Do you remember how horrible we looked last year at this time? All I heard after the WB game was how we weren't that good. We peaked at the end of the season after getting some games under our belt. You just take them one game at a time. I NEVER thought we would win the stated this year or go undefeated. I think WB has a much better team than we do experience wise. I won't make a prediction on the out come of that game. Yeah Coach Monroe was frustrated with the offense and his QB. The frustration comes from the inexperience. I heard him tell a reporter after the game how great Brady will be and how he is coming along great! He doesn't expect a 15 year old to step in and be Jeremy Woods. He will be that good in my opinion or better. Will that be this year? I am not sure. Give them all a break. Funny how the fans are already spoiled. We had double what Mcminn did in yardage. Brady threw for over 200 yards and we WON and everyone is crying like we lost. Well guess what. We may lose in 2 weeks but it won't be the end of the season! We have several more games to play and this team is only going to get better. GO OWLS!

Coach Monroe played his high school football at Mcminn. His coach was Ace Adams, the present Mcminn's coach grandfather.Coach Monroe coached there for many years too . Mcminn is 0-how ever many times they have played against Coach Monroe. NEVER beaten a Benny Monroe team EVER. Won't happen friday night either. Monroe being a NORTH ATHENS boy won't allow it Ooltewah by whatever it takes.

Connor Quit

ORcat-take a bit of advise from an Ooltewah fan. I am NOT a WB fan at all BUT they are not a middle of the pack team this year. Be very cautious of this bunch they are for real. They have 27 seniors on this team. Ooltewah will have a tough time with this bunch. Ooltewah's team this year is good but mostly sophs. Don't underestimate this bunch from William BLount. You will see.

I am a little worried about their quarterback. He seems to be the real deal. I think our team has alot of talent but we need to GROW UP on the field. I think these two open dates will hurt us more than help us before the WB game. Like last year. I think the WB game was our worst game all year. I am glad we always seem to peak at the right time of year. Near playoff time. I am afraid a well put together senior WB squad will be big trouble for our young team. I think it will be a battle at Mcminn. I think the fact they have a new coach and offense though will help us. GO OWLS.

Guess that was a lesson for players and parents. Coach Monroe and his staff will not be bullied into playing kids or bribed or talked into or made to feel guilty or obligated. They will play who they think is BEST to win period. Work hard in practice and on/off the field make your grades and be part of a great team. This is all just crazy and like you said it is a big school and everyone thinks they should start. NO BEGGING from coaches is ever gonna happen trust me. GO OWLS!

When you say LOST what do you mean? He decided yesterday that he did not want to continue playing football and wanted to CONCENTRATE on baseball.I think he has said that a few times and I don't think Coach Monroe is one to beg kids to play do you? I don't think the offense will miss a beat without him. He does understand the offense a little better because he is a senior but if his heart isn't in it then let him go I say. Sooooo Brady Reed won't be competing for reps. Which I don't think will matter since after the game last week he was going to be the starter anyway.I read on here when everybody was trying to figure out the QUARTERBACK SITUATION that if Connor wasn't the starting QB he would decide not to play and that seems to be the case. I spoke to Coach Monroe after the game and he seemed more upbeat than I expected. I think you are exactly right. First and of course foremost he wanted to win. BUT there were some other things he wanted to know that I think he got an answer to. I myself didn't think we played that well. Although winning 28-0 is hardly a bad game. Some things that were weighing heavy on his mind got answered I think. The "underclassman" are not your average "underclassman". Dear Lord can you imagine when they aren't sophmores and grow up on the field. SHEESH. That Veteran WB team better get them this year if they can. That Smith boy is a FREAK! Veterans like Caldwell and Marshall will keep things together. I wish I had a clip of Caldwell knocking that guy's helmet off. Surely someone has that. The Brady kid is only a sophmore as well. Exciting if you ask me. I think it will depend on how fast this team grows up. The veterans are the best of the best as well. I think we are in for an exciting year to say the least.

They say WE are cocky. All I hear is about how NOBODY can play with the teams from Middle Tn. We were a field goal away from beating the STATE CHAMPIONS. Needless to say we could PLAY with them or at least hold our own don't ya think?Farragut or even William Blount could have beaten Ravenwood last year.

They haven't lost alot of sophmores this year because several of them are starting. I don't agree with you OWLPRIDE but I never do. Do you have a kid playing on the JV? just wondering.

I agree with you. I think coaches are learning all the time how valuable having a successful freshman "program" is. Coach Monroe is starting several soph this year from that phenom frosh team last year. One of the major pieces to a successfull, no I should say elite, high school program is to have a great feeder program from middle school as well. A great example is Maryville High. They have had this in place for years. I know other schools have middle school programs(most all). But I am talking about a great coach teaching sound fundementals and most of the time the same offense that will be run when they get to the high school. Cleveland has this. I know Donnie Yates used to be the coach there not sure who is there now. I would like to know how many high schools don't play a freshman schedule. I know Ooltewah beat Farragut for their "championship freshman game" last season. BUT not all of the teams in that region participated. I know traveling time was an issue there as well. I don't think the TSSAA will get involved with this but the best coaches know the value of this concept. The proof is in the winning programs.

The scrimmage has been postponed due to the heat. No one can practice in pads for now and they are limiting time. I hear there is lots of teams having to do this.

Thank Goodness you did. To be honest, after we won that game no one really gave that game another thought. I did hear alot of talk about a rematch in the playoffs. I would have LOVED to see that. Unfortunately for you guys, Farragut seems to always have your number. I do have to say, I did watch the game replay and the "fireside chat". Thank goodness I did. I felt much better about all the cheating talk and whatnot, but nevermind. From what I hear, this is William Blount's year! Just ask any WB fan they will tell you. I bet Ooltewah won't have a chance. I was there as well. Blount looked big and strong but they always do. They throw the ball more than I thought they would. They have great size but didn't see much speed. I knew the Walker kid was an animal but he is only one guy. The quarterback had alot of poise youre right. I think the Ooltewah game will be a battle not so sure about a war. If we can keep the refs from throwing flags everytime Marshall runs one back we should be ok. Cleveland is in trouble again if you ask me. William Blount would have killed them in a whole game.

Coach Monroe is friends with Coach Lockerby. Coach Lockerby called and asked Coach Monroe if they could come down and practice with them. I wouldn't call it an actual scrimmage. They didn't keep score.
