I track each play and record it on a play sheet. I would like to make a correction. I forgot to allow for the 14 yards Waverly gained when they fumbled and recovered it. That would put them around the 102 mark I believe. Neither of our stats are official and the margin of difference is not enough to worry about. Just the difference of actually gaining the 40 yard line and being just short but getting credit for it could make that big of a difference. By the way I hope you all had a safe trip home. IT was a good defensive performance both ways. I just wish we had made a couple of more plays and got on the board. I said earlier this week we would not get shut out, but we did GREAT JOB TIGERS. I hope the injury bug escaped you all as well. Shoate should be used to playing every down the poor kid hardly ever gets to come out of the game. See you next year in Waverly.

Hats off to the Waverly Tigers you got the job done. Adamsville has got to find some offense. Here is how the game shook out. Total yards Adamsville-194 Wavo- 88 Waverly capitalized on a bad play that never should have happened. The cards forced Waverly to punt and on the return the ref blew the whistle as we were trying to return the ball. After a conference of officials they decided we had to replay the down. The next kick was fumbled at the one and the tigers recovered. The A"ville defense played their hearts out an never allowed Waverly to threaten to score until the final few minutes and the Waverly could not punch it in from the 6 yard line with 1st and goal. Cards hold and Waverly kicked a 20 yard field goal. For the final score of 10 -0. Both defenses were very good, and deserve to be recognized for their performance. By the way Shoate is fine. He was not injured just cramping. He played almost every down tonight and just wore down. He had 9 tackles and 4 assists. 4 of those being for a loss. AGAIN CONGRATS TO WAVERLY YOU DID WHAT YOU HAD TO. Good luck the rest of the season.

I believe Adamsville put teams in the playoffs in baseball, basketball, and softball. So they do know success. If my memory serves me correctly it was not all that long ago that your team was the doormat. What goes around does come back around. I am tired of people like you that think you are the best that ever was. I bet it has been just as long since your team won a state title as ours. I did not look it up because I really do not care. I will continue to support our Cardinals every week. It will not be long until they start returning to their more successful days of being in the hunt for playoff spots year in and year out. Mr. Neutral your talent pool will run dry sooner or later and then wlecome to homecoming again.

I didn't mean to sound like i did, but you know. Shoate has the potential to take over a football game, sometimes he does and it gets ugly real fast. He has the size and the ability to play for some pretty large schools on Saturdays, but who knows. Show up Friday night and I promise he will make at least one play that will be worth the price of your ticket. Cards have a ways to go, but it is heading in the right direction.

Where did I pick A'ville to finish second in the region. I suuport my Cardinals, but I also understand football and right now we do not deserve to make the playoffs. We are building a program and it will take some time. I honestly do not think we legitamately have a shot at pot season for anothe rcouple of years. Just so you know they have a blocked kick against Houston county-x-tra point and punt (granted punt was negated by penalty) and Hardin County blocked punt returned for td. The reason the HC and Waverly game was so close, misuces on special teams (punt returns). Besides that Waverly played a good game. If not for those little miscues, it would have been a much worse game, ask any HC fan. That is all part of the game. The record is what gets you into the playoffs not how well you played in a particular game. All that matters is that you win. If those miscues had cost you the game at the end it would have been the same as if they beat you by 3 touchdowns. I am not taking anything away from Waverly's kids they play hard, but those type mistakes will cost you sooner or later. Of course that goes for all teams. Hope you guys a safe trip to A'ville for what might just be a dogfight. You might beat the Cardinals, but I think you will know they were there all the way to the end. I agree with other posters that there is a drop off from the top two teams and the rest of the region, but then again they all strap it up on Friday nights to determine the outcome. Goodluck to all region teams this week. We need to represent well when it comes to playoff time. I will pull for the four teams that make it like always.

The move was totally rvamping the offense. Something had to happen one way or the other. It will be smash and mash as long as we can stay healthy. I do not think a'ville will be shut out. They have not yet thios season. They will block a punt or something just to keep that from happening. ................ I hope.

Any Riverside fans out their know the teams injury status. I heard tonight at a'ville for the JV contest that the panthers had several injuries some very serious. Is it true panther fans?

You are correct, I have only seen Those 2 so far, but I am a fan of football and I look at what other teams are doing each week. The players I selected are always vital to their teams in their performance win or lose. It is only opinions and some of the decisions are based off of past performance. Relax a little it is only for fun. Besides no one said they are the best ever they are just some of the players we think are important to their team's success. Sorry if us fans are being just that.

great day of practice in the woods at A'ville. Lots of good coaching and work. I hope this carries own through out the rest of the week and into friday night. Lewis county- Hatton Houston County- cruz A'ville-Shoate "the Beast"and Pipp #64 smartest kid on the field nearly every week recruited by Princeton Camden- Boyd and def Richland-pickett I do not know enough about the rest of the region.

I agree with you people like shoate are the reason footbal is fun. I have had the pleasure of being around shoate ever since he was 9 years old. He was as fun to watch then as he is now. When he decides to flip the switch he is almost unstoppable. At houston county he almost single- handedly stuffed the run from the irish. I think he ended up with 10 solo tackles all for a loss and 6-7 assists. He also blocked a punt that got negated because of a Cardinal penalty. Oh, by the way he also blew open the hole that allowed us to score the TD. I get to watch he cardinals up close and personal every Friday night. I can tell you that they will fight all the way to the end. Their biggest problem is depth. Look out in the years to come as they are starting something very positive in A'ville. Coach Gray and staff can build off of players like shoate. Sorry for length. I am just a passionate fan. GO CARDS.

I have not had the pleasure to see Waverly play this year sounds like their defense is pretty stingy. Adamsville has struggled to get any offense going so it could be a long night. However, some of you might remember that last year these two teams fought into 2 overtimes before it was finally decided. I grant you Waverly may win, but I think the cards found some offense in a couple of moves that we have made. I look for this one to be decided by the team that has the fewest turnovers. With your enrollment numbers you should have more possible talent than a team that is 1/4 of your size with its enrollment. However, we all know it takes more than numbers. It has not been all that long since a'ville gave hc more than they wanted out of a little 2a school. Try this on for size. Coach Gray's first game as a qb for the cardinals was at home against?? Hardin county Coach Gray's first game at home as head coach is against Hardin county. If you come in and let the cardinals keep it close into the fourth quater all bets are off.

I said after they beat the cardinals that it would be tough for the bobcats. They have talent, but it is not being capitalized on. Having seen them in person I do not think they will win more than 3 games all year. I hate to say that because I would like to see them do good because it brings attention to our county, but in this case an apple is an apple.
