  1. Isn’t it amazing what is said by those who do not know what is really true? Why is it so very hard to understand that success can be achieved by those who follow the rules? It is true that 8 years ago Clarksville Academy had a lower student population and today it had almost doubled. This is because the program that they are offering is academically strong and they are competitive in their team sports and very involved in the community. The school has placed high priority in hiring the good teachers and sharp, motivational coaches. Parents want their children to be taught and trained by these people. I have heard the student athletes speak about their experience at CA during Rotary and Kiwanis lunch engagements. They all speak about how they came to attend CA and what the school has done for them. Most have been there for all their school years and have worked their way into varsity ball program through CA’s middle school athletic program. A few have enrolled after attending middle school at a public school and an even smaller number has enrolled because a parent is serving active duty at Fort Campbell, Ky. The common statement from the students is they have been taught discipline, respect, and sportsmanship. Through their coaches these students have learned that hard work, team work, and school pride is the combination that creates winners. It’s a simple formula but one that works. Keep watching CA and know that the road they are traveling to reach success is the one done the right way.
  2. The live feed was a nice touch. I would like to see that more. It gave the fans an opportunity to leave the packed gym and have a drink and popcorn while they watched the game!
  3. Hey Grendal, CA welcomes guests every Wednesday! Why don't you come and count the seats? I think you will be surprised!
  4. FYI for all of those who say CA team has no bench to support the twins. Tonight Malcolm Smith sat the first half after having his lip cut and the bleeding would not stop. The team still remains undefeated and the team is solid. Strong on defense. They are hot under the basket, can hit the 3, are ruling the rebounds and can bring it down the court with no problem
  5. You need to go watch CA play this year and review their record. Isn't it interesting that they are in a fight for second just behind Nashville Christian? If you had been watching from a distance...They have had several successful years at the middle school level and now they are experiencing it in high school. Sounds like their program is getting stronger each year.
  6. Quick work?? Interesting statement-were you in attendance for the game? The Cougars have not yet reached their potential. The mix of players and talent at CA is strong this year. Keep an eye on their progress, you may be surprised.
  7. Clarksville Academy held their own last night against Rossview. The score was 0-0. The facts are CA is a 1A school with about 28 players and Rossview is 4A with a roster of approximately 77. To the observer it appears that Gary Shephard and his staff have really turned that program around in 3 short years. That football program is only headed in one direction and that is up.
  8. Melton this is really a statement about CA's progress. What is Rossview? 4A?? Don't the Cougars have approximately 27 or 28 on the team? How many would you say Rossview has?
  9. That is good advice. Leamon is strong for a sophomore. I have watched him play baseball for CA. You better list Dyer too. He's young but a natural athlete.
  10. Just a FYI for all those watching the Cougars. They won tonight and the young team looked strong again. The roster had 28 players tonight. If I recall that is not far from the number Miller had when they were going to the playoffs. Does anyone out there remember what number the team maxed to?
  11. Rossview played sluggish because Clarksville Academy caused them to. Got to give credit to the 1-A school taking on the 4-A school.
