  1. Not to mention some geezers like me who were around pre-Kisabeth. That is like prehistoric, huh? I think Tim Sorrells is still O coordinator at Furman. Good to see Anderson doing some rebuilding of the dynasty.
  2. JC4life, How many JC alums are coaching in that area now. I know of 3, even though I don't know who is at MoWest, I read a post earlier that he is a former Patriot. Then Anderson and Quarrles. Anyone else?
  3. I am amazed this is still such a heated rivalry. It started in 1973 (or somewhere there about), head coach fired, went from Jeff City HS to West and it was on after that. Murphy Fair, the Guru, called Jeff CO. a top 5 team preseason. Hope it holds all the way through. Man I miss E. TN. this time of year. HS football in Nashville just ain't the sameas it is up there. GO PATRIOTS!
  4. Oh, not to make fun of my alma matters coaches, but the 1st year we were a school, one of the coaches went to write "PATRIOTS" in the end zone. Bill Brimer and I were coming off the field and looked back, busted out laughing and Bill yelled out "Hey Coach S..., what is a PATROIT. The assistant coach who had been a Maury had mis spelled PATRIOTS. Now that is funny.
  5. noonesfool, That's just plain ol' wrong, funny but wrong. Reverse directions to get home. LOL!!!!! Murphy Fair has JC preseason top 5, could be a fairly good game this year. Makes me wish I were back East. Oh, thanks again for the courtesy at last years state wreslting tourney.
  6. Patton from Blackman looked good at the states last year. I believe one of my Greenville guys, Matt King will be a good one to keep an eye on this year.
  7. I think Joel Brimer, Div 1 champ at 160, is going to Carson Newman.
  8. TD, Coach Brimer has my home phone #, do let me know if you get over here. No rush on the shirt, sense I got the pullover. Got the pullover at mylocker.net, good site to order shirts from. Yeah, I'm not so sure the Principal won't be tougher to impress than Coach Brimer. His moniker really fits him, I can see him being noonesfool.
  9. bcb iii, Thanks for making last Friday a great day for me. Seeing one of my best friends sons on his way to the champions level (Joel Brimer), meeting great people like you, Da Bears, Pattonboysdad, noonesfool and others, I know why this is such a great sport. Hey, did James Jabaley make it to the finals. I looked on the TSSAA and he was 3 time champ "back in the day". Thanks, again! Marty (aka jchs76) 76 - dang i'm getting old. I'm gonna have to come up with something more creative than that.
  10. Da Bears, Was a pleasure meeting last Friday. Enjoyed watching your guys wrestle. Made it home in time to repent from all the yelling!LOL
  11. TDArtist, Just wanted to wish you the best of luck on your new Head position. Coach Brimer told me he knew exactly who he wanted and got the man for the job. Look forward to following you guys next season. I am already expecting to have a great trip to Clarksville for the duals in my GHS Wrestling shirt. Charlie, Thomas and Joel. Thanks for the excitement over the last 2 years. All of you young men have a reason to hold your head high. Each of you made it where MANY others in your weight didn't. Porkchop, keep up the good work, and tell Lambchop she is way cool.
  12. I know I am a Brimer fan, but he did find a way to win against some great competition this weekend. I believe he would win again given the opportunity. Sliger is so quick on his feet, and strong, I just can't see Hermann beating him. I would pay double to see a Hames / Watson match. Two great young wrestlers!!
  13. I have to agree Josh looked very strong. I sat in front of his dad and it was tough to see him lose in the semis. We cheered hard for him. Weakley at 160 had a pretty good year, and I saw a kid from Ravenwood, maybe named Ford, I think, who looked good at times.
  14. I'm just disappointed she didn't sneak me something in, too. I sat with them Friday, spoke to you bcb iii about Jabley, and I can say Bill and I go WAY back. He has always been a good friend and a great person. I truly believe this has been a dream year for them, Bill in Hall of Fame, Joel state champ. Way to go out on top Coach.
  15. bcb iii, Was nice visiting with you Friday night. Did Jabley make it for the finals? I feel confident from what I saw of your boy he will be back with a vengance next year. My friends son won 160. Great year for the Brimer family, Coach Bill was inducted to Hall of Fame and son Joel wins state. Hey, da bears, pattonboysdad, noonesfool, FIG42 and others, it was a good day to be in Chattaboogie Friday. Really enjoyed meeting all of you. Congrats to all the young men who put forth great efforts this weekend.
  16. I particualrly liked David's performance in the semis last night. His mat awareness and quick assessment of opponents weaknesses was blatantly obvious. I only saw one of his matches, but Josh Jadoobirsingh was really impressive yetsreday, too. I hate that I could not stay for todays matches. Good job to all these young men. My man made it to the finals, also, GO JOEL BRIMER, Geeneville!
  17. I've been watching the posts on who is going to win and Reg. 1 is not getting much respect. I think King, Brimer and Usary all have great shots at top medals. Joel got the shaft when they changed the brackets. Usary wouldn't have to face Mang until the finals which is good. king is an animal who can win it all! If Arrington will reach his capabilities, he should do very good too. I would love to see Willet go deep in to the brackets, tough competition, will need a lot of heart. Go Greeneville, Go Region 1 Good luck zach and zaxdad. Hope to see you guys on Friday!
  18. Thanks drem. I agree, put rivalries aside and cheer for your Region. Back in the day, I almost cheered for Newport one time. LOL!
  19. Thanks TDArtist. You and Coach Brimer and the others have done a very good job this year. Always nice to have a regional title. I was hoping to see Locklear in Chattanooga. I like his heart. Look at Willett, #1. Congrats to Joel for the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. I told his dad I hope to see him in the finals. Porkchop, too. This is their year. Willett, if you read this, GOOD JOB. Leave it all on the mat seniors, there ain't no next year. Good job also to those young men from DB. I know you must be beaming about your son taking 1st and still having another year - presuming zaxdad is for the 285 from DB. I am sure it will be a good trip to Chattanooga for Region 1.
  20. Thanks FIG42! I am hoping to make the trip to Chattaboogie Friday if Greeneville gets enough men there. Hopefully they will have good showing today (Sat.) and then again next Thursday in Chatt-town. Let me know this evening who did what, OK? Thanks to all you guys in East TN for keeping me up to speed. GO GREENEVILLE.
  21. Any first round results yet? Keep me updated TD, porkchop, KEV-O, noonesfool. Hook a fan in Nashville up!
  22. Thanks drem. I was about to email Coach Brimer to find out who had what seed. Looks like the G-Devils should fair pretty good if all will do what they should. Porkchop- if you read this it was good to meet you in Clarksville. Best of luck in the individuals! GO GREENEVILLE!!!!
  23. drem2, Thanks for the info. I agree G'ville should be bringing home some hardware in February in Clarksville.
  24. Thanks sportsfan93 and TD, I will be in Clarksville in 2 weeks cheering on the G-Devils. Looks like D-B was a tougher match than what I had hoped it would be. Somebody hook me up with individual results Wed. morning. Good job Coach Brimer, TD and the other assistant coaches. You guys have the team in good shape.
  25. Man I would love to be there, Nashville is just too far away. Go G'ville!!
