  1. A little bit of a drive, but worth it if you like Greek food, Athen's Family Rest. on 8th Ave. south in Nashville. About 1 to 1-1/2 miles north of Father Ryan. Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives TV show gave it a very good review.
  2. I don't get to Greeneville that much, but I would highly recommend Fatz. They have great fried green tomatoes they serve on some tasty grits!
  3. The coaches missed a big opportunity from where I was sitting. #26 is a stud, but #20 scampered through the defense almost every time he got the ball. It seemed like he got 8-15 every time he carried the ball. If they had stayed with him, it might have been a different outcome.
  4. Uh, yeah. I live on Heritage Drive in Madison. I know what happens in this area, as well as I know what happens on the west side of Dickerson Rd., Englewood and other areas where I live. I also know about Joe Johnson, the Nations and Settle Court. Don't like the truth, then help change our neighborhood. AND I have not been a sneak, I have been open about the area. I know nothing of meth labs in E. TN. since I have not lived there in over 25 years.
  5. Unfortunately I go to county school games. Never been to a game at this school. Should not be much of a problem to get in unless Greeneville rocks the place. I have heard they have a home basketball game there tonight also, parking may be an issue. LOCK YOUR VEHICLE... not just because the neighborhood, just Nashville in general.
  6. Thanks. Believe I will try to get there around 6 just in case. Not sure there is a lot of parking at the school. Hope it is injury free, too. I live less than 2 miles from Maplewood, been raining for the last few hours and is turning chilly. Hope the Greene Devils bring their mud cleats and their "A" game. Would like to see them make it to Cookietown again!
  7. What time is kick off tomorrow night at Maplehood...uh, I mean Maplewood?
  8. I live about 2 miles from the school. Not much in the immediate area area, but in Hendersonville Mimi's Cafe, in Hermitage Ryan's Steak House. Not sure if it will be open, but a few miles away is the Farmhouse Rest. at Fonatanel. Of course the Old Faves of Cracker Barrel and Shoney's are close by. I will be at the school for kickoff. A hope to see a bunch of G-ville fans making the trip. Gonna be cold, bundle up!
  9. Radio said 35-7 TC. Good week next week to go to the creekbank.
  10. Any update? Cannot find any radio station to listen on. Thanks.
  11. Looks like 103 is posted, weather bad, but it is drivable here in Nashville. Hopefully they made it safe and will be positng the rest soon.
  12. Cajun food - Bro's on Charlotte Pike, next to I440. Have to work to get there, but the owner is Darrel Breaux from Lafayette. Great jambalya, red beans rice, etouffee and more. Isn't there a Marble Slab or Maggie Moos in Cool Springs area? Near Buccas if I remember correctly.
  13. If you can make it during lunch in Nashville, Tex's World Famous BBQ is the real deal. Brisket is good, smoked sausage is very good, bologna will make you smack someone. http://texsworldfamousbbq.com/
  14. Bill Brimer. Was going to retire 2 years ago, stayed out a year and now is assistant coach to Randy Shelton at Greeneville.
  15. I know it was postponed because of the football teams success, but has there been a Steven Brimer Invitational this year? Porkchop is gone and the board is awfully quiet!
  16. Good results, looks like you should have won or placed high in team results. Good job. Thanks for the info.
  17. Congrats to Alcoa for a great finale' to a great season. You guys deserved this, took on all comers and won all games. That speaks volumes. Keep it up.
  18. Da Bears, How did you guys do in South Carolina? I have been looking around and could find no results.
  19. Bocephus you are a dillweed. Instead of saying great passes and catches by 12 & 14 from Giles you bad mouth Greeneville that played hard nosed football. You're top notch aren't ya? footballfame54....you are a loser. Hey Kev-o and jchs76 im not a loser greeneville is. Nobody remembers second place.lol I actually see now what everybody was saying about you in the first place you cant take your own medicine. Dude or dudette...whichever, I live in Nashville. I see Whites Creek all over you, in fact I live less than 5 miles from your school. I have not posted anything except calling you out as a jerk. Thanks for proving me right.
  20. Bocephus you are a dillweed. Instead of saying great passes and catches by 12 & 14 from Giles you bad mouth Greeneville that played hard nosed football. You're top notch aren't ya? footballfame54....you are a loser. I wouldn't call them great passes or catches... they didn't have to be particularly good, because the receivers were so far behind the secondary. Just making a statement, and asking why Greeneville's secondary was so bad. I'm not trying to rip on these kids or anything, but given the scores that were given up i think it's a fair question, and don't see why you need to resort to name calling. Was this a problem all season? I took it as a backhanded swipe at a team that just played for a state championship. I live in Nashville so I have no idea how they played all year, but in fact if 14 had not beaten a db the plays would not have happened. And if 12 had not thrown strikes on those it would not have happened. Name calling I apologize for. I respectfully disagree about it not being particularly good. If the db's were so bad why wasn't the score 77-14?
  21. The only thing your doing is making Gilles co. look bad. I hope no one from Greeneville takes his bait. If you just let him talk and dont reply he will stop. agreed, classless post, but he's right about the db's. How do you make it to the state finals with a secondary that is that bad? Bocephus you are a dillweed. Instead of saying great passes and catches by 12 & 14 from Giles you bad mouth Greeneville that played hard nosed football. You're top notch aren't ya? footballfame54....you are a loser.
  22. If you like small school football, Jo Byrns at East Robertson should be a good game this year. JB is always good and East is playing well right now.
  23. Warlock, If they build a new stadium, will it be in same place? Is design to have bleachers on both sides? I can tell you in 1975 when we first took the field - first game at home was against Sevier Co. - we won- that stadium was awesome. I had played at Jeff City and our playing field was a march from the dressing rooms. I will never forget Sonny Freguson knocking the SC quarterback out of that game when he did a bootleg in front of our bench.
  24. Tim Sorrells - OC / Runningbacks - Furman
  25. I never had this drive, but I do respect all thoe who do... Two days before he was to wrestle in the semistate, the Memorial senior hyperextended his knee in practice, forcing him to wear a heavy brace, which severely limited the mobility that was the foundation of his success. "That knee injury showed me that when adversity is thrown at you, you can still accomplish goals if you stay determined and concentrate on what you're trying to achieve," said Wedding, who is planning to enroll at the University of Kentucky next fall to pursue a career in chiropractic. "I know there won't be anything I face that will be tougher than this. You have to go through so much and it makes you realize that there's another level you can go to. "It's like wrestling in the third period of a really tough match. There are times when you don't have anything left, but this is what you trained for, so you push through and keep working and fighting. Most people don't have that gear and don't know how to get there. That will be an advantage for me no matter what I do."
