Trust me we are all wondering that one? It is a decision the coaches made, and if we had been succesful then the coaches wouldve been heroes . Would it have changed the outcome? of course we would like to think so, but the fact remains that we fumbled the ball again inside the 15 and failed to stop the 3rd and long conversions. Hopefully we will learn from our mistakes and come back strong next year for another rematch. good luck to the roadrunners especially the seniors on the ridgeway team. Juniors, we will see you again next year hopefully. So my only question is which game do i go see this coming friday. Good luck again.

Congratulations ridgeway. That was a very good game. the combination of turnovers and the decision not to go for the field goal killed any chance gtwn had of winning this game. Crawfords is something to see, I think he is better than his older brother. but I think that much credit has been given to him and absolutely none to the line who made his runs possible. The ridgeway line was very impressive both offensively and defensively. I hoped to see more from the LSU bound kicker however. I was really expecting to see some impressive field goals from the kicker tonight but he was held to just one and missed two. I know gtwn wishes they had gone for the field goal rather than trying for the td. Goodluck to ridgeway throughout the playoffs. Beware of White Station and Woodale.

playa, The backs and w/r are experienced players from last year. most of our oline are juniors and sophmores except for the center. They have all stepped up under the leadership of the center and done a great job. This bodes well for next year also. Dline is mostly seniors with the exception of a few underclassmen who have stepped up and gotten valuable experience. we lost a few linebackers who were replaced by a couple of aggressive athletes a junior and a sophmore.The secondary i beleave stayed mostly in tact.

No injuries that i am aware of. The center is a senior d1 prospect with many scouts looking at him. I wish I had an answer but can not give any details. Even if Gtwn plays error free, Ridgeway will be a challenge.

First Gtwn must come out and play a good game against Kirby. They should not overlook this team. Gtwn must focus on its turnover issues. IMO turnovers made the difference in the white station and woodale games. If Gtwn holds on to the ball I see a much closer game.

Ok im back. my son blew out his acl in the game friday against houston so ive been out of pocket dealing with that. Looks like hes done for the season and baseball too. thats a tough one. Well this game. again is up in the air. Both teams have something to prove considering the outcome of their games last week. For Gtwn, they are coming off of two tough losses in a row. w/s barely beat wooddale. Its going to be another battle and it will also probably do a lot to determine the rankings for the playoffs. I think the outcome will depend on how well gtwn can defend againdt the woodale passing attack. Ill be on the chains. give me a yell if you are at the game.

That is the same explanation that was given to one of the guys on the chain gang by the side judge. The other part to that story is the time clock. Of course from my point of view time had expired. But I guess thats the way it goes. Things dont always go your way.

He is a junior. In fact he played on the GYAA Bears with your younger brother. We had an MRI done today and see the doctors tomorrow. We are praying that it is an mcl and not an acl. Mostly because of baseball becasue he catches for the Red Devils also.

Well it really is a hard game to loose for either team. this one one was even harder due to the fact that my son was the one who injuredhis knee on our 2nd offensive play of the game. it looks like he is done for the season. Congrats to you #11 you played a huge game personally. I am the only Gtwn fan on this forum which posted here before the game. I knew better than to consider you guys (overrated). Check my previous post. I think the fact that the game went into double ot speaks for itself for both teams. Other teams may have counted you out but I didnt. Congrats to your kicker for the field goal which put you into the ot situation.

This game is for hometown bragging rights, Many of you guys have played ball together and against each other since grade school. Your dads have coached many players in baseball and football from both schools. I dont think any assumptions can be made about this game. It going to be a battle untill the end of the fourth quarter.

KWC. You raise some very good points. I have not seen woodale play this year but I have seen white station. I did have first hand reports from the woodale/ houston game. The reports i have read here on the forum have all talked about woodales passing game. Last year woodale was a passing team. And they were very good at it. If woodale has developed a running game to go along with their passing attack, then that portion of their game has not been talked about here on the forum. Thanks for posting the stats, that does shed some light on the subject.200 + yards rushing is very good. I know that Gtown is taking them serious and considers them as one of their toughest games. I think that any team that does not take them serious will be making a huge mistake. Again, the last four weeks in region 8 5a is extremely tough.

This will be a huge test for the woodale o-line. They will have to be on top of their game in order to slow down the white station defense, and the three line backers they have. look out for 33 and 34. If wooddale is as one dimensionable as they have been portrayed, i think they will have a tough time with white station. I think white station may have the edge because they can pass and run the ball. W/S had two huge passes in the forth quarter of the gtown game that tied the game and forced an ot situation. I am basing my thoughts on the fact that woodales defense almost let houston come back and beat them. On another note, there will be a huge matchup in Germantown Friday night. Regardless of rankings or records. this game is always a showdown. All these kids grew up playing ball together and against each other. This is for community bragging rights. This Friday night will be huge for region 8, 5A.

Thats what I thought too, but it didnt happen at the game I was at last night in memphis.

Scenario: team a has the ball with less than a minute to go. Neither team has a time out left. team a runs 4 plays with no first down. posestion goes over to team b. there is 15 seconds left on the clock. team b takes the field and is ready to play but team a strolls off the field. the clock start winding and the 15 seconds expires. I thought the clock was not supposed to start until team b snaps the ball regardless of what team a is doing. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The games this week will start the weeding out process in region 7 and region 8. there are several big games that will show the strengths and weeknesses of the regions. After this friday you should be able to get a better feel for your top ten list.

Thanks for the recap. Gtwn Had the misfortune of a meeting with sp a few weeks ago. I witnessed the size and speed of the line. I was particularly impressed with #51 on their line who is listed in the program as a sophmore. I thought that OB had not been tested up until this point. There performance was impressive.

Trader, I guess Ob is for real. they put up a heck of a game tonight against SP. How did the line stack up for ob compared to sp.

Playa, There were all sorts of rumors going around before the season started that Crawford was going to transfer to another school.Obviously he did not transfer. Was there anything to that rumor or just wishfull thinking for ridgeway opponents?
