  1. When watching the players play, especially the seniors - KJ, Sam Myers, Sam Miller, and others, and even more so, when watching them mourn after a loss, one can tell they give it their all, physically and emotionally. They do far more than just show up to play, they play to win. But, a few determined players does not a winning team make. I'd like to see the seniors and all who follow their lead have a great game Friday night and a great rest of the season. The players should always remember that with every moment, there is an opportunity for greatness. The past is past, play like there is no tomorrow.
  2. Pedo - You are mistaken about the Lady Raider soccer team fund raising. I understand that they had a Bonnaroo booth during the summer, did a car wash, sold ads for a soccer program, sell candy during the school year, have sold options for oil changes, amongst other things that you seem not to be aware of. They do, in fact, try very hard to raise money.
  3. It is also a shame that after such a tough season for Coffee County - and then peaking when a team is suppose to in district tourney play, the refs influenced the match as though they deemed CHS unworthy of the big win, and yet, their play was indeed worthy of the big win. CHS had some girls rising to the occassion and playing out of their heads during that game. Today should have been their day. They earned it!
  4. I'm with you. It's a classic! I used to have a copy but I loaned it out once, only never to see it again. I guess he thought it was great too!
  5. It will be the same, truthful. It is what it is. His character speaks for itself. He doesn't lie in the newspaper, he doesn't lie on the radio. His job is to speak truth, not to be one sided. He does his job well. Those interested in airing their views should be thankful for the free air time. It is his choice as the host of the show who he offers free air time, obviously, he has chosen to have an open forum. Those who want their opinions heard by the masses will have a larger Coffee County audience available to them with this forum. Now, the choice is theirs as to whether or not they want to take their comments to a new level.
  6. Also glad to see the radio crew across from the scoretable. I wasn't at the game. Do you mean that the radio crew now sit directly across from the scorer's table on the other side of the gym? Also, what benefit do you see with the radio crew being across from the scoretable?
  7. I was clearly responding to 82Cat's post the fact that there is more than one newspaper in Manchester. Your response was hostile and your posts, unfair. Your attack on me was uncalled for especially in your assumption that I should have realized your status. Sorry to disappoint. Is everyone on Coach T suppose to know that 5A football fan is you, a sports editor at a newspaper? Are you offended that not everyone on Coach T knows who "you" are? Well, I'm sorry. My intent was not to offend you or your paper and neither was mentioned in the post. I don't read your column at all. Even if I had known that you are a sports writer, I still have the right to tell 82Cat that if he didn't like what he read in one newspaper that there is another in Manchester that has been around a long time and does in fact have a history of having intellingent, well spoken sports writers. Yes you are entitled to your opinion as am I, it matters not who either of us are because neither is greater than the other.
  8. What did the coach do that got him the unsportsmanlike call?
  9. Reality is highly over rated. It will be good to watch the boys go into the pit as underdogs but come out victorious.
  10. That's not surprising since his record has won him Coach T bragging rights in the past, even without the help of the famous BCS.
  11. Sometimes, you just can't go by stats or what the game should look like on paper. Coffee County is due a big win. Friday night is their night to shine - book it!
  12. Possibly, during Elam's senior year when the Raiders traveled to Lincoln Co. and won to clinch 2nd in the region. But I'm far less knowledgeable than others on here. I'm just guessing.
  13. Didn't Norman Thomas play back then as well? Juniors Robert McCarver and Scott Smotherman were not too bad either. Everything about that era was fun to watch.
