I believe this decision was made at the umpire's discretion, but yes, it is understandable in our sake to rest our pitchers... just can't stand TIES!!!

yeah that is true backr... and owlsbaseball you're probably right about the umpire's discretion b/c the umps are paid by the game not by the inning.

From what I've seen and heard: Red Bank is stronger than they've been in a long time, Soddy's down from last year but still good, Ooltewah and Hixson have a lot of seniors, Walker Valley is very good, and North Jackson is impressive.

On the other hand, it looks like a long year for East Ridge, Boyd and Central.

Pretty good summary I think...but Ooltewah has a lot of juniors, not seniors...Ooltewah has 3 starting position players that are seniors - the rest are juniors.

 

Who knows what will happen today. So far for Ooltewah, John Howard, Joe Young, Brad Loy, and John Gregory have pitched for the Owls. Higdon, Burke, Woods, Jones, McDade are left to pitch these last two games...hoping the Owls can pull this one off! Go Owls!

You forgot Robinson. I think if he pitches today it will be in championship game if the owls get there!

Boyd Buchanan will be alright this season. They really are a solid team....on the 1A level. They have only played one 1A team and beat them. They have played very good teams in LFO (GA), Soddy, Hixson, and Notre Dame. Boyd is kind of a hot and cold team. They will look good one game, and then sloppy the next. They played great defense aginst Soddy, but just couldn't get the bats going. Not taking anything from the Mac-Attack, but Boyd should've hit him better than they did. Boyd may not be able to compete with some of the larger teams, but they sure will give you all they've got. Boyd is stiff competition, on the 1A level. Hopefully, they can get their act together before they step it uo to 2A.
