We have lost 4 games due to the weather. Of the teams we have played, 3 are district games and we are 3-0. And we did play a very good JCS team that beat Ripley and other good teams and we won 9-3.

We don't play in tournaments because they have no advantage to your high school season. If you are scheduled in a tournament and weather causes you to cancel(happened a lot this spring), then you end up with 2 games a day and sometimes as many as 4 games in 2 days. That is not good for the Atlanta Braves pitching staff, much less a high school staff. Everyone says it gets you ready for post season. HOW? When you get to the district tournament, you play 1 game a day. You need to have 3 capable starters and we can do that during our regular season without tournaments. Then the Region tournament is ACE on Monday - #2 on Wednesday (not an elimination game) - and ACE on Friday. How does these tournaments help you. Your #5 and 6 never see the mound after the regular season!

ALSO, this has been a big discussion on this board. JV GAMES. We have 2 coaches, like most Schools in West Tenn. Therefore we can't set up a different JV schedule. SO, we try to play a JV game everytime our Varsity plays. We average 18 JV games a year. We feel that this has helped our program. Since starting this (no tournaments) we have gone 19-9; 20-7; and 8-0(this year). Might not be a good reason, but it has worked for us and our program.

forget the records----------- I dont recall your team making it out of the district tournament EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so you might want to re-think that strategy and quit scheduling lake county and haywood---- we blew their socks off!!!!!!!! and if you only play 3 games a week your 1-2-3 only get work--- its not all about the wins it is about the AT BATS ----- good try though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You might want to check out USJ's schedule. Most of the schools we have played are top single A or 1-2 classifications above us. We have not played all cup-cake single A teams. Won the Sports Plus Tournament against some top-notch competition and went 3-0 in the rain spoiled Warrior Classic. WE have some tough ones coming up against Collierville, South Side, Dyer County, Bartlett, Ripley, JCS and Lexington. A weak schedule USJ does not have!! :(

I'm sure we'll lose eventually but it will be to a good team and probably one out of our classification. ;)

purpletiger... quit talking all that stuff. You talk about Crockett playing Haywood, Lake county, etc. which makes them have an easy schedule, but you said that ya'll played haywood and "blew their socks off." So i guess ya'll play an easy schedule too.
