I'm not sold on CBHS yet. 1 quality win over MUS followed by a sound defeat by the same team. A drumming by MBA. Overtime Loss to McCallie. 1 pt victories over USN and Ryan. Sound loss to Nequa Valley. I think the Brothers should be more concerned with beating a Webb team they only beat by 4 earlier in the year. As for the big 3, until CBHS consistantly beats MBA, MUS, and McCallie, I'm not sure they'll be able to join the ranks.

McCallie has soundly beaten MUS and MBA in past years and so have MBA and MUS. i cant recall the last time CBHS was in a close game with any of them except for this year and that will happen on OCCASIONS. They have to CONSISTANTLY start beating the lesser talented teams (i.e. webb, farragut, etc..) by more then 7-8 goals. McCallie, MBA, and MUS all beat those teams but double digits normally and their first team normally doesnt play the whole time. MUS has been known to keep some guys in the whole game but not that often and until CBHS can start soundly beating the lesser opponents in the league and consistantly win games against the big three they are still in the second tier.

Since 1999 and counting this season, CBHS has only won 4 games against MBA, MUS, and McCallie, with 2 wins over MUS and 2 wins over McCallie in the same year. I know that they beat MBA in 98, but laxpower doesn't keep records back that far, so I can't recall how they fared against MUS and McCallie. From 99-2005, CBHS has a winning percentage of 14.2% against MBA, MUS, and McCallie. It's good to see them being competitive again under their new coach because they've had some good teams in the past, but to say that they have joined the "big 3" is premature.

in 1998 CBHS beat MUS at CBHS early in the season and MUS won at MUS in the last game of the regular season (Micah Brafford with the winner in the 4th to win by 1) and MUS beat CBHS for the State Championship on a Jason Lewin shot after Chris Morrison sent the game to ot. That season McCallie missed the playoffs as Webb joined MUS, CBHS, and MBA in Memphis, not sure if the Brothers play the Tornado, I assume if they did they won as they were the number 1 seed in the tournament.

I know Gibson is going to get All-American again, but I personally think Ryan Burns should get it again too. Just cuzz he didn't have as many points doesn't take away from the fact that he is easily one of the best lacrosse players in the south. Just his presence on the field is a sight to see. So, that just leaves one more open spot for All-American. I'm guessing a few of the canidates would be Grapski, Rainer, and maybe a McCallie player. We'll see in a few hours.

I think what hurts Grapski the most is the fact that his team wasn't in the playoffs and only won one game in DI. I know its not fair, but good players on bad teams normally don't get postseason honors (unless your name is Alex Rodriguez, and then when you finally get on a good team you're horrible).
