Detroit Lions

You are 100% correct about the Raiders have a better group of recievers wneely, BUT what makes the Lions a better offensive football team all around is the fact that they have a 1,500+ yard back in the backfield. Kerry Collins had a solid year last year in Oakland, but it is about time for him to pull a Kerry Collins and go on a massive drinking binge OR do something else stupid that will ruin his career yet again. If Joey struggles early this year, the Lions have a multiple time Pro Bowler waiting in the wings and his name is Jeff Garcia. Personally, I think that Garcia will serve as Joey's biggest help as a pro and his career will turn for the better with all of this talent that Mariucci has surrounded him with.

Well mark it down, the Detroit Lions have selected a WR in the 1st round. Now the Lions have Roy Williams, Mike Williams, Charles Rogers, Az Hakim, Kevin Johnson and Marcus Pollard. At running back they have Kevin Jones and Shawn Bryson. So Joey Harrington has no excuse now up in Detroit. If all there players stay healthy and they improve on defense throughout the rest of the draft this team could be a playoff team in 2005.

They may be stacked, but who is going to throw them the ball? When they have needs elsewhere, why blow a #1 pick on a WR that only played 2 years college ball and biggest asset is possible red zone plays? Williams mayu turn out to be the next Jerry Rice or Randy Moss, but the Lions already had a strong WR corps. They would have been better suited to get another QB or more OL or fill some holes on the D side of the ball. Harrington can't throw to the superbly talented WRs if he is flat on his ball. Did the Lions not pay attention to their division rivals moves on defense?
