i havent seen alot of freshman starting varsity, but the one i like is mason guymon, catcher for oak ridge. i am not saying he is the best, but a few years down the road he will be awesome. he has a pop time of 1.9 i believe, and is 5'6"

so i am looking foward to seeing him playing at oak ridge for the next 3 years.

Yea right if he is throwing a 1.9 he would be already getting looked at by major colleges. I played summer ball against him and there is NO WAY he throws a 1.9 because he has SLOW foot work. The team i played for had 4 or 5 stolen bases off him in 2 innings. If he throws a 1.9 i must throw a 1.36. Sorry but there IS NOW WAY

Polk County has three talented freshmen starting one at catcher Ryan Qualls, the other i believe at second Matthew Allen, and the other playing leftfield.centerfield, and possibly pitching Brandon Bean. Ryan hasnt had but 2-3 passed balls and throws between a 2.0 to a 2.23. A coach timed him and reported the pop time. Matthew has tremendous range at second and has only made 4/7 errors this year i know that isnt as good as some of these seniors but you cant forget what kind of field Polk plays on and these 3 boys are only freshmen starting on VARSITY, Brandon has great range in outfield and the best freshmen arm that i have ever saw. Polk is going to be tuff in another year or two. Polk also has talented sophmores starting too. it will be exciting to see these boys play again.

Loudon has a real good freshmen catcher also. I'm not sure what his name is but he is very good behind the plate. Blocks up well and calls a great game. They also have an outfielder that is very good. Both of these kids will be really good the next few years. They both hit the ball very well.

I've seen this kid play, he's a decent player, but there is NO WAY that he throws a 1.9 pop time. If he threw that then Chris Kirkland threw a 1.2.

Sonny Grey out of Smyrna is one of the best pitchers in TN and he is a fresh. I don't know what his record is now, but i know at one time he was like 5-0 and still hadn't allowed an earned run. He one hit Mt. Juliet.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
