GC has done a great job with the Bobcats this season. No one expected them to come close to 10 wins in ;05, yet they've already posted 14 going into the postseason.

 

A lot of the better athletes at Central don't play baseball. What GC does is take the kids that love to play and makes them the best they can be.

 

Before this season, he'd never been seven innings with Halls and he took them to the limit a week ago before falling 11-6. Also, his squad forced Coach Polston (sp?) to change pitchers in the middle of an inning for only the second time this season.

 

I hope that GC keeps up the good work and brings success to Bobcat Baseball.

A good job by Coach Cox and staff this year. He can cap it off with a trip to the Region tournament. If I remember correctly, the last time was when Brian Lovett (ETSU) was all everything for the Bobcats.

You are absolutely right. Obviously, after Halls, it is a down year in the district, but Gaines has done a great job with a team that had good, but not great talent. He deserves a lot of credit for the job he has done.

 

Former Karns head coach Danny Sharpe has been with Gaines at Central this year. I've been told that he has made a huge contribution to the program. Look for him to be a candidate for a head job, once they begin to come open. He is too good a coach not to head a program somewhere.

hes did better than anybody thought he would do.but he was stupid for kicking his best player,zac bowman,(03 player of the year)and other good players off the team.but i gotta give him props for this year.good luck for the rest of the season

I dont agree with you on the Bowman situation, but I also don't want to bring up the past. The fact is, Coach Cox has discipline, and like you said, has done much better than anyone ever thought he would.

Just a thought, but isn't Diane Psihogios the "Principal" at Powell??? Isn't Kim Kallenberg the "Assistant Principal" at Powell??? Where were they when Danny was last a head coach???

 

If Danny wants the job, I hope he gets it.
