It was a good season but left the bats home this week :o

Another way to look at it: pitchers on the opposing team came ready to throw. The kid from Collierville was unbelievable. I talked to some college coaches at the game, he is being scouted by DI schools like UT and Ole Miss. So he will probably get drafted. Hats off to him, his hook was nasty and the fastball was just as good.

the bats and balls made the trip to Millington in the big

red truck....

unfortunately, Halls' Larson and Collierville's Yokley's

arms made the trip as well.

The old axiom great pitching shuts down great hitting

is an axiom for a reason.

Riverdale hit a few shots against Larson in the

first game but combine a 395 foot outfield

with a breeze blowing in and they are just long

fly balls...

Yokley in the second game was just lights out.

90+ fastball with a ++ slider.

But there is always next year.... :o

And getting there and not scoring a run

beats the alternative of not getting there at all :)

Riverdale will be a Force to be reconed with next year with the return of their 88mph pitcher Phillip Stevenson. He did not play this season due to his travel team.

due to his travel team? ;) wouldnt high school ball be more important then his travel team...and if he threw 88 he would have been on team playing...

I think it was his familys advice or something like that. But he is just on player, Riverdale has many others returning: Chad Hunter, Drew Richardson, Coty Woods, Cody Harrel(THUGLIFE),Trice Powers, and a few others.
