If these Sullivan Co. schools are so bad they get beat by 1A schools does that mean the BIG Science Hill victory over Sully Central is an overstated patsy win?

East was a very good team. Its just that when you are up against the boys of space mountain, there can be no victory. We are the measuring stick for 1-A schools. Yes, we are that good!!

It isn't very fair to lump all the Sullivan County schools together, as you did. As I have seen, for this season one of the Sullivan County 4A schools is pretty good, one is fair, two may struggle in 2005. Sullivan East had a fantastic year last season. They even ran it up on a few teams for the first time in school history. A fun year for their fans indeed. But, traditionally Sullivan East has been the doormat of the conference and NETN 4A. That doesn't mean they can't change the trend. They have had the perfect opportunity to get kids excited to build off of the 2004 success and start something new and lasting in Bluff City. Many do believe a great deal of the 2004 success can be traced soley to their QB who graduated and the offense geared around his strengths. I guess this an opportunity to see what kind of coach 'ole Coach Ralphie-boy really is.

 

As far as the Science Hill victory over Sullivan Central goes, I'm told Central should of scored a couple of times. Even so, the score still would have been lopsided. Someone stated the time of possesion margin may have tipped in the Cougars favor. That just means the Toppers were scoring fast. My best guess is the Toppers are better than many give them pre-season credit for and could possibly upset the perennial Big East (5A) top teams. At the same time, Coach Hooks' Cougars seem to be heading into another struggling season.

cloudland has a good bunch this year and they are a lot beeter then a lot of football teams that are in 2-5a. pats are not that bad they will win some games this year. so dont over look them from loseing to the highlanders. we was in the weight room all summer and have improved a lot since last year.

Sounds like all that success from the past has gone to your heads... Cloudland, while one of the top 2 teams in their region, is a shell of what they once were and I'd like to know what you boys are smoking up on Roan Mountain to think you're STILL the "measuring stick" for 1-A schools.

My friend, Redwalloutcast, if the highlanders are gone, then how are we still putting up W's here in Roan Mountain. Sure, we may not put up 50 points a game anymore, but a W is a W my friend. Once a winner, always a winner. People come and go, but diamonds are forever and so is Cloudland football. Mike Lunsford is gone. Maybe he thought he had become bigger than the program and deserved to have all these athletes around him, but he will find out what its like to be on the opposite sidelines at Orr field just like all the other victims of the past. No matter who's wearing that blue and gold jersey, to be a part of Cloudland football is special. Its being part of a winning tradition. thumb
