  1. All predictions aside now, Hampton trounced Cosby even with the unfortunate injury to Townsend. AND WHOA!! the Landers of Cloudland have landed smack dab at the bottom of East Tennessee football (regardless of classification) with the West Greenes, Oakdales, and TSD's of the world with the monumental loss to Jellico, who seems to only be able to stay one step ahead of those teams, but two points ahead of Cloudland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Upset central (stop) News Flash (stop) Jellico 22 - Cloudland 20 Hot off the presses.................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????????
  3. Can anyone shed some level headed light on the Karns situation that won't get this topic blocked. "The facts mam, just the facts"!!!!!! (quote-Joe Friday)
  4. I got to agree with the BigDog and Bob that this'un might be close. BTW, hain't that Newberry fella the same one ol' festus and them other Morgan Co. fellers say got RUNNOFT from another team for financial problems? Who knows, them Tigers might get their football gear repossessed by kickoff and either forfeit or play in nothing but their Tiger stripes.............................
  5. Good grief, you people act as if this is some new problem at Campbell Co. People have questioned Coach wells play calling from the very start. Just like they did with Kesselring, Bruce and yes, you peeblee, Chadwell and on and on back to the Hatcher days in the '70's............. Get real and blow up the school and build a new Lafollette and Jacksboro high schools or there will never be peace and contintment in football there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or another winner for the next 20 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. This information appears to be from one of the Earl Nall polls or possible the one on Murphyfair.com. The main thing is it does appear to be fairly accurate information as polls go and not a "list" of teams that have good records from playing and beating "patsys" early in the season......................
  7. I wouldn't call a 74 - 0 thrashing a "learning experience" to better prepare the team for CC or anyone else. As for Maryville, they rested their #1 folks early on the Dragons............
  8. Again the listing of Cloudlanders on a coacht poll of this seasons winning % doesn't make them or anyone else #1. PLUS they aren't good enough to be #1 nor have they ever been since there are no GOLD footballs on the shelf in Roane Mt. They can't even get past Oneida and the mighty Crusaders/Holy Knights of CAK.........................
  9. I saw Sunbright against Greenback last week and I now know whey Satterfield left for Grace in K-Town. If your gonna get beat you might as well get paid well and double dip the state retirement to boot. Neither team looked very impressive so Sunbright might win this week and then again they might not. Both teams I saw Friday night will be a tossup against anyone on their remaining schedule. Jellico, Tellico, Kings, Grace, etc................
  10. I read how Campbell Co. was going to beat Clinton last year and look at the result. Unfortunately the strength of the Cougar coaching staff is gone and the defense graduated. If I were the Johnson kid, I'd declare myself a refugee and go to AC to improve my marketability to colleges. Or at least Jellirock up the road they won a game and may win some more........................
  11. Gee, I thought the person was asking about Unaka in earnest to get real replies from Unaka people. I don't recall anyone asking for the King and his LANDER SLANDER!
  12. Ha. Ha. to anyone that thinks Cloudland is ranked No.#1..........If you take a closer look at the coacht poll you are referring to it is only a LIST of unbeaten teams or winning % to this point. Unless you want to include Grace Baptist of Chattanooga and TN School for the Deaf in the TOP TEN teams in the state......BTW it is in alphabetical order which is the ONLY REASON Cloudland is listed first......
  13. Have to agree since they are the only 1A public school in the state to have "private school" conditions where there is plenty of $$$$$$, support, and since the county is so geographically small, maybe a few outside the county border crossing the line to play football there. By the way, isn't Trousdale the only county in the state to have practly every single road/sreet in it paved. All roads lead to TC........ "If you play foolsball" quote - Mama Boucher
  14. 3-4A used to be a tough league but only Maryville & Central have good teams. Halls, Powell & West are "decent" on there best day. Clinton, SD & LC are awful. Top to bottom 2-3a is a better region, you can't disagree w/ that. 3-4a 5 yrs ago was the top region in the state but its nothing like it used to be. Maryville & Central have remained tough but everyone has slipped 825739604[/snapback] WAKE UP REG. 3-4A FAN! Most everyone who reads this stuff is aware they are talking about the toughest 3A region in the state. There is enough chatter about Murraville etc. without invading a 3A topic to toot the 4A horn. You are comparing apples and oranges............
  15. NO YOU DON'T! Neither one can make it past Oneida much less Coalfield. Even with the strength of Coalfield it will still be Trousdale in a walk!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Jeff. Co. football is a faded memory of the Kisabeth days when the Collins family kept the gene pool stocked. Days gone by!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Campbell Co. by 6.
  17. Saw a news report about the oil refinery in Somerset Ky. (Somerset Oil) Their CEO says its not the Govt., the refineries, or the gas station owners. He says its the owners of the oil wells ie. the oil companies both here and abroad. He said the local well owneres he buys from in KY, TN, and IN. are gouging and charging $70+ a barrel just like foriegn oil companies. Which by the way are in cahoots with the big oil companies in Europe and the U.S. anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. This false shortage will be a good excuse for George W. and his oil Company buddies to stabilize prices so they will never fall below $2 or $2.25 again. Cancel a few football games across the country and watch the people scream and squall and then they will be thankful and happy with the government stabilizing the price around $2.25. BUT IT WILL NEVER DROP BELOW THAT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. You know folks, the king, storm, or what ever he wants to go by reminds me of and old wrinkled up rock star that everyone has forgotten and still wants the limelight. An ex-jock standing on the wwwfenceline that can't face that the Highlanders might finish 2nd in the region this year and after that its over....Every time a topic that involves Hampton or another Region 1 1A team is started this guy or guys comes on tooting the "Lander" horn in shameless redundant overtones. Tisk, Tisk, "oh' for the good ol' days when people looked at me and I was real and not just virtual unreality." BTW this topic is Hampton vs Jellico so get out of the way Mick Jagger and let Rricky Martin vs LL Cool Jay talk their game!!!!!
  20. Wwhats to congratulate for Karns boys. From what I hear about Mo. East, you could run wishbone salad dressing at them and they would wilt like lettuce to hot oil and vinegar. When you beat a contender, then check back in and toot your beaver horn............
  21. Cougars 6 Pats 0 in the East Tennessee Clinic Bowl. (They will probably send each other to the KOC for the Sat. morning clinic)
  22. Seriously, this topic is about as futile as Tennessee asking for information about ETSU. Gosh!!! I don't think they have a team anymore to worry about!
  23. This IS the same Heritage team that just barely beat that poor ol' stumbling/bumbling/Johnsonless Campbell Co. team that is playing 5A football without a 5A defense isn't it. To answer the question he must be of minimum effectiveness because if the Johnson kid had played Campbell Co. would have scored at least twice with EP's and the ball controll offense would have limited Heritage to only one score. Don't let one minor victory swell your head into Chilhowee Mt. size pumpkin..............
  24. A good point to agree with. Also, D1 prospects that get thrown out of games for slugging and miss the next game against the all important "rival" usually go the way of the dodo bird and Brent Schaffer as well as countless other UT and FSU signee's/recruits that had the talent but not the attitude to make it in D1 ball. Alcoa has a few skill players to beat 2A teams with, but not the hoard of strong stud lineman after lineman and separate defensive platoon players to stand up to teams like Maryville and Central, so they should be happy with their once every 5 to 10 year victory over their rival................................
  25. I'm sure this is and will be hashed out all week, but if the Kriespy Kritters of Koalfield don't absolutely manhandle Wartburg then they can forget even being a challenge for the Region title!
