actually we arent the fighting irish anymore. next year we are the father ryan irish(our principal says that notre dame is going to sue us if we dont change it and it gives us a bad name) and we will not have the leprachaun as our mascot/figure. father ryan stinks now. we have to stand up to pray in the morning and also say the pledge of allegience(i know, not that bad, but gets old and is childish). we also pray before lunch(come on now who gives a ....). the girls skirt length is going to have to be closer to the knee. a funny thing today was during the pep rally, we just totally dogged mcintyre.

JN, You're a dag gum idiot. It's childish to pray or say the plege? You have a lot to learn. Punks like you are what's wrong with the kids in this country. You give American children a bad name. I wish we still had a draft and you could go to Irag and learn about the plege. Who cares if the girls skirts are shorter? Is that so you can get your jollies? Grow up!

Ole Dad

JN, WHy Cry. As a Father Ryan Alumnus. It needed to change and go back to discipline. If you can't handle it get the H-E-L-L out. we do not need Babies like you disgracing the school by crying.

Chill out Ole Dad, you give Tennessee Republicans a bad name. Did Bateman do anything? Did they even try to run the ball with him? How does Ryan only manage five first downs(according to the Tennessean online)? Snyder with 41 carries? Sounds like MBA dominated the possession game and won with defense.

so does no one think father ryan put up somewhat of a fight? Ive been around Ryan football for a while and thats one of the best Ryan MBA games since the 1997 state game. Father Ryan has changed alot and for the good. This team is going to be very good soon and they proved tonight that they can run with a power house like MBA. Next years game should be pretty intesting i think

Lussier is getting his system in action, it won't be too much longer now.

Unless that system includes (1) instilling more discipline and less of a "thug" mentality amongst the FRHS players, and (2) more media savvy on the part of Lussier (he's given more bulletin board material, through a series of somewhat veiled but pointed jabs about his school, the league, and his opponents, in six months than the rest of the league's coaches have probably ever given combined), things aren't going to change much - at least not enough to start seriously competing for state titles.

I find it hard to believe he would allow his players to play with a "thug" mentality. But He may have to play what he has. As for veiled remarks he always said what he meant when he was at Oak Riddge or said nothing at all. If he can get some players from the middle schools in the next couple of years and is allowed to be the coach he will get the job done. It wouldn't hurt if he could hire some new asst. coaches. He's working with a handicap with what he has. He just needs time. He didn't have much to work with when he came to Father Ryan. Sorry but just because you went to Father Ryan doesn't make you a good asst. coach. There I've said it. Been holding bidding time till now, but it needed to be said. Sorry if I hurt anybodys feelings.

ob...Talking about sick...when did they let you out? What does my team's running back and him breaking his leg have to do with The Plege?" You are obviously a punk that feels descrimunated against. Enough said. Go FRHS!

Ole Dad

So I heard there was a football game tonight anymore about that.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
