Is it a Case of "When bad coaches happen to good players?" or .... what?

Personally, I'm not sure how to answer the current Cougar problems, but I do have an idea on a problem the program has. Why is it the Central has two good feeder programs that have been successful with rosters around 40 kids (Holston and Blountville) and then the Freshman team has only about 17 kids on it the next year? Could part of your problem be a basketball coach telling the kids to chose one or the other? Weird.

As far as the team that has stuck with it at Central, seems they have played some teams close but lose it late. Depth again? As far as the Coaches go, and the decisions that they make....what specifically do they do wrong? Tell us what should be done.

Football stats are not always the best indicator of what actually took place during the game and especially the end result. As far as an opinion on a coach, it is way to easy to immediately place blame on the coaches. When a proram is down it is usually from the bottom up. Focus your efforts on improving the program as a whole starting with the little league. A kid who has been taught the fundamentals of the game at an early age (blocking,running,tackling) will be a much better player in middle and high school. Parents have an even bigger responsibility. Take that X-box and DVD player and lock it in the closet, put a ball in your childs hand and tell them not to come back inside until they are sweaty and have some dirt on their clothes. Give your coaches a chance, not a reason to loose hope.
