Great game tonight! Both KC and ND played tough. It could have gone either way. Hard read on the FRA game tonight. CD played hard but just didn't have the horses. FRA - KC should provide an an excellent matchup for the title!

This was a terrific match and both teams should be very proud of their exceptional efforts. The game was end to end without a score until a little over 4 minutes remained in the 2nd half when one of Catholic's midfielders hit the net from just inside the box. ND immediately responded by pushing forward but got caught by a KC counter-attack with just over a minute to play for Catholic's second goal.

 

Coach Schermerhorn and ND have a very fine team. In particular, their defense was very well organized and their freshman keeper played like a veteran in keeping Catholic's offense in check for all but the last four minutes of the match. Knox Catholic rose to the challenge of a top-ranked opponent and got a great win.

My bad. No offense was intended. I was told she was a freshman. In truth, I don't care what year she was, she was a very fine keeper. In fact, I'm glad she's not a freshman. She'd have three more years to play. No matter what, she and ND's entire team played very well.
