Sycamore at East Robertson

Course what the Tennesseean won't tell you is that this was one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. It was one-sided from the beginning with Sycamore getting to the bonus in both halves while only three fouls had been called against them. From stopping the game and forcing a sub for a pinprick, dried blood spot on the back of our player's jersey to an East player being elbowed to the ground in front of an official without a call and ending with a ridiculous intentional foul call in overtime that essentially took East out of the game, these refs gave the appearance of being in Sycamore's pocket. Joking and laughing with the Sycamore coach during the game does not inspire confidence in their lack of bias. East played a great game against a very good Sycamore team -- it is just a shame the outcome couldn't be determined by the players and not the refs.

They won by 13, which isn't that much yes, HOWEVER was there ever a point during that first game where you felt East would beat Sycamore???????

The War Eagles jumped out front by 20 very early in the game and despite playing sloppy in the second half they still cruised to a double digit win.

Oh come on Catfish -- I think at the point that East cut the lead to 4 points we had as good a chance of winning as Sycamore did. Our leading scorer coming out of the game with 4 fouls right at that point took that chance away however. And we should have won at East -- our defense took away your shooters uncontested shots. You guys always act like you were "just playing badly" whenever anyone plays you close -- maybe that had something to do with East playing well.

    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
    • I was kind of surprised to read this. I thought the general concision was most programs are going back to natural grass. Personally, I have never liked turf. I see the arguments on both side for or against it. I just never liked them. Also, I did not know there as an impaction test that these fields had to pass. Good stuff OP
