2006 preseason top 10

First off 'Smo' got his scholarship offer from Vandy for being able to attend there and that is his GRADES!

Sports only go so far at some schools and then the real reason they are there sets in. The reason is an EDUCATION!

'Smo' was not the only lineman that lifted a LOT and had good speed. There was one I KNOW of at R'dale who could stay with him pound for pound. That lineman was just not as tall.

'Smo' was and more importantly still is a class act. No trash talking, he just played HARD and gave it 100% every play day after day after day.

Now as to 'Franklin County', NOBODY better take them for granted anymore. They may not go deep in the playoffs this season, but they might surprise alot of folks.

Oh, Can't take a joke? Actually, I would say DB deserves a top 5 ranking. They are Senior loaded with an unusually high level of talent stepping up to varsity. DB should have a leg up on Oak Ridge this year. Now in the 2005 season DB probably had no reason to be in the preseason top 10. This year though, they have the talent to be comparable or better than any team. And I know 5A football, I live in the heart of it here in Nashville and I get to see the Williamson Co teams and the Rutherford schools

I think 3 out of the top 10 are in the region 4-5A

1.LaVergne

2.Smyrna

3.Ooltewah

4.Riverdale

5.Ridgeway

6.Brentwood

7.Franklin

8.Gallatin

9.Farragut

10.Cookeville

I thought Mcnine was bad for leaving out the defending state champions, but you do not have them or the 2nd best team from last year.

Well i was thinking about putting them on there but when i went to the championship game and saw how many seniors lined up to do the toss i was like never mind...but yeh i guess they deserve to be in the top 10...but they had like 28 seniors line up? or somethin like that..

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
