1. Oak Ridge

2. Brentwood

3. Germantown

4. Dobyns Bennett

5. Smyrna

All are pure guesses right now as none have even had spring practice yet.

I say Oak Ridge because they have Conner coming back and if they keep their passing game going it will give other folks a hard time.

Brentwood because they will have a strong team coming back that will know the system better they run now. Franklin could be the dark horse that upsets some folks in the region and make it hard for Brentwood to come out of that region.

Germantown, because they never are down three years in a row.

DB, because they just reload and are a year older with the starters they had last year.

Smyrna, just because they are due and return so many. Thing that may hurt them is losing Smotherman. My biggest question about them is who is Smo's replacement.

Gonna be real interesting this year and see if there will be a truly dominate team in 5A.

I hope that Ravenwood has another strong season. In high school football, last years bets team is not next years best team, to much turnover with the loss of seniors. Maryville now there is a state champ that although they graduated several key players, are a team that one will have to beat for the number one spot. 3 straight state titles. Ravenwood does not belong in that class just yet.

I know that they are not likely to repeat but right now they are the state champions.

    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
    • Thats one of the problems of having an 8-team region. A team could make it in any other region, but the numbers work against them in this one.
    • 1A: Brayden Baker - Eagleville Rylan Collins - Lookout Valley Luke Treece - Coalfield   2A: Carter Daniel - Loretto Gray Eubanks - Huntingdon Trevan Myers - Pigeon Forge   3A: Gabe Eddington - Montgomery Central Carson Parrott - Livingston Academy Jaxon Walker - Loudon   4A: Eli Evans - Farragut Andrew Hill - Central  Brady Scott - Sevier County   Division II-A: Wesley Alig - CAK Cooper Jones - Boyd Buchanan Gunner Skelton - Columbia Academy   Division II-AA Brock Beddingfield - CPA Dominic Monaco - Brentwood Academy Tomas Valincius - Baylor
    • MTD (Stanley Black and Decker) and UTM are the only thing keeping Westview's numbers up. Are school enrollments dropping in those listed schools too or just athletic rosters?
