  1. I have not seen Rossview this year, so who knows, maybe they can compete, very doubtful tho, I would be willing bet 3 months pay that Rossview will not play 15 games this year and 2 months pay that they will not play 13 games this year, they have beaten no one of relevence. Henry county has beaten 2 5a teams (ridgeway and Beech) and 4a Liberty that would beat that 6a rossview team 9 out of 10. see yas
  2. who are we playing this week, Ridgeway or the 2011 Patriots, this debate should not even be mentioned until the 2013 team wins the state championship, then we can compare and contrast. By the way the 2011 team will never be defeated period. The 2013 edition still has a 12 more contests to win or lose. 15-0 3-0 apples and oranges there has been several HC teams that were 3-0 but only 1 15-0 team, compare this team to others that accomplished that 3-0 record
  3. Rossview has been bad, they are bad and will continue to be bad. Kenwood beats them, Northeast beats them, Henry County beats them, SPringfield will beat them, West creek may beat them. If Rossview ends up 3rd it will be because the others are terrible, not because Rossview is better, the terms better and Rossview do not belong in the same sentence when talking about football.
  4. I am seeing Hamilto as fourth in their district regardless of Friday? they have lost 3 district games?
  5. there are a lot of self proclaimed experts with all kinds of "you really believe you know how a team is going to perform against another, a couple of weeks ago, I listened to the self proclaimed experts on college gamed day all predicted that TN would beat florida, USC would beat stanford, and michigan state beating notre dame, and they were all wrong on the 3 big games that saturday. My point is that none of us know what is going to happen tomorrow night but some luck guy will be right, Northeast has played one quality opponent and lost, HC has played one quality opponent and lost, neither have played anyone of any quality in weeks.
  6. This thread is about Najee, but since you brought up Marsalis and him being bad, started as a freshmen on offense, started as sophmore and junior on defense, he got burned by Randle of LSU and Maze of Alabama, maybe he did not shut those guys down but who has. 3 year starter in 3 years, and obviously he is one of their best or he would be starting, most sec qbs will pick any db apart if there is no rush by the d-line.
  7. I just want to say that Powell was a very good football team, Mobley was an excellent back and the Patriot Fans were great, thank you for all your support of the kids and program, the fans of the Patriot football program are second to none. Now for the men of the program, What a great group of young men, they were spectacular all season, they gave all of Henry County somehting to hang their hats on with no if's involved. I stood in amazement last night looking at the stands. what a great day for Henry Countians from the send off to the welcome back. Yesterday was a day that will never be forgotten in the lives of many people, and I feel very fortunate to have experienced it.
  8. inflated stats or not both Henry County and Powell put up good numbers against good teams in the semi finals, I read where someone said Hendersonville was not a good team, that was hardly the case in my opinion, once again HC made them look sub par, Powell apparently did the same to Knox West.
  9. I am a Patriot fan, Mobley is the best back that Henry County will face this week and folks, that is all that matters, Those are facts, Stopping Ridgeway was great but it gets us no extra points this week, another fact. Now for the my opinion part, there has been lots of talk about schedule strength, has it occurred to anyone that the reason our schedules both looked so weak is that both of these teams made them look weak. We were not challenged and outside of OR the panthers were not challenged, weak schedule or weakness relative to Powell and HC. Hendersonville was a very good football team and so was ridgeway, (can not speak for the opponents of Powell but we made Hendersonville look weak. Was NE that improved or was there just a snowball effect in game one when we were up 49-0 with 10 minutes to go in the quarter, I take the latter. This will likely be a meat grinder of a game that would probably go to game 7 if it were a 7 game series, Patriots winning of course, LOL. A wise man once told me to be careful getting in a shouting match with a fool because someone may come up and not know who the fool is. I listen to the so called experts on espn talk about their picks every week in college and pro games and every week they miss a few, I have not seen Powell, I have not missed HC play in 122 games, I know how good HC is and you better believe I know that if we do not play our best game, that Powell will beat us, what I am saying is you better respect your opponent as this is the only game that matters this week. If both teams play turnover free football, we win this one 33-21, The Prophet has spoken. Turnovers by us and Powell may win, turnovers by Powell and it could get out of hand. None of these players have been there before so who really knows.
  10. State Championships, we have none, state championships runner ups, we have none, 4 semi final appearrances in 6 years we do have, now please explain to me how many programs in the state can say they have had that success over the last six years, Maryville and Alcoa by far surpass it, trousdale, And I would put any team that has reached the Championship over that stretch has been very successful, but to not say a victory over Henry County is a good victory well I would hav eto disagree, they may not be at the top of the top tier, but they have been consistently one of the best in their classification for the last six years, maybe that is a second tier program to you but not me. 06 Maryville beat Hillsboro 07 Maryville beat Maplewood 08 Hillsboro beat Maryville, 09 Beech beat Columbia, 10 Columbia beat Hendersonville, Columbia and Hillsboro both made two trips to the big game, Hillsboro since their run has fallen off the map, sure I would rather have one title than 4 semi final appearances and no vicotries but a top tier program is one that contends year in and year out and that is what HC has done over the last few years.
  11. Ok, in some opinions Ridgeway played a tougher schedule, big question mark, they played 2 teams that are pretty good and what I would call better than any we played at HC, however the rest of the schedule was not so tough. The folks from Memphis do not know about our district other than we dominated the district. I have never been much on common opponents because it really is meaningless, but just to throw some thoughts out there about our district and your schedule. White station beat Ridgeway handily East beat white station by seven North East out of Clarksville beat East by scoring 42 points on them we beat Northeast by a combined score in two games 93-21 fourteen of those points came against our jv in a 63-14 thumping, we held there offense under 70 yards each time we played, the qb alone had over 300 against east
  12. Henry County rushed for 446 yards, their offense looked great to me, As we play teams that are faster those 65 yard runs we had early in the year will be 15-20 yard runs in the playoffs, we as fans need to understand that our offense was dominant last friday, and so was our defense giving up 65 yards total yards, there was a lack of discipline that cost some penalty yards and stopped drives but I think we punted 2-3 times? We can not expect our offense to score every possession, lol just because they did in some of their regular season games, it appeared to me that they were working on their passing game once the game was in hand. two interceptions late in the game. the only stat that NE even came close to with Henry county was the penalties, the qb for NE had over 300 yards the week before and he did not have 100 in two games against Henry County. We averaged roughly 10 yards a carry and you fools complain about not playing well, compare to the first game with NE and you should understand that those games just do not happen weekly, NE had some injuries in first game and they quit late in the first quarter. If we continue to keep the ball off the ground we will do just fine.
  13. Sorry but I disagree, Kimbrough is a special weapon on offense but Memphis east gave up over forty, lets give NE a little credit, now if east had nto scored and their offense looked awful maybe I buy into what you are saying, but east score 38 points, how many more do you think they would have scored, what I am saying is if you score 38 you should win, defense was their biggest issue.
  14. Interesting, East played such a tough schedule and was 7-3, and gave up a loss at home by giving up forty points to a team Henry County had on their weak schedule and was beating 49-0 with 9 minutes to play in the second quarter, and went on to win 63-14. but that was one of those weak opponents LOL I think they beat the second seed in the Memphis quad. I noticed that Dyer county beat a memphis team, and now the quad is down to the one Memphis team in 5a that I think is solid, Ridgeway.
  15. it was not the best game Friday night for the Patriots but to say sloppy? I thought the defense played very well, we fumbled the ball once on a kick return in which the runner planted andlost the ball, an interception on a very well thrown ball that popped up off the shoulder pads of the reciever and just fell into the defenders lap, two fumbles in the fourth quarter with the JV squad in, Shaq ran very well behind a well blocking o line, we need to unnderstand that descent teams will not give up 35 yard runs with regularity, 4,5 yard runs is fine, not sloppy, our defense held them to like 17-48 passing. I did not think the game was sloppy at all.
  16. I once had a good friend and football man tell me that a team that gives up 45 points in a game is not championship caliber, and East gave up 49 to craigmont, I can assure you that HC has a better offense than craigmont and the HC defense is not going to give up 45 to anyone. I think Ridgeway is a threat to take it all and the same could be said for Gallatin, Columbia falls in the category of giving up around forty early in the year so ...... Not sure about the others in the east quads. HC secondary has been very solid this year, when a team is up by forty and the other team begins passing on evethery down against the jv well points and yards should be at a premium. I do not know that I agree with the Warrior on 5a being weak, I think if you compare others to the HC's and Ridgewa then it may seem weak but HC reminds me of some of those Maryville teams in their 4a days.
  17. my fault, bad use of terminology, definitely not a cut block (most of the time, cuts are for blocking)they were just cutting our blockers and our recievers, nice try with the heighth thing, the cuts that were called were nose dives at our players below their knees, the dc coaches coached it and I know that for a fact, the dc team was well prepared and the best game we have had in a while, not sure if anyone ever felt the game was in danger of going the other way, I read the posts about the running clock as well and never put much thought in it, however I thought last week that Dickson might beat us one out of ten games and think that might be a stretch, did not see how that could happen unless it was a mud bowl.
  18. I read in the paper that the Patriots were 2-10 passing, maybe the coaches were trying to work on the passing game, yes the Dickson game was wrapped up but practicing some stuff for the future has nothing to do with class. We have not played our starters in many second halves and they need work, they have not been in there two minute drill more than two times all year and had they worked on it in the fourth quarter and thrown every play it would have had nothing to do with class. speaking of class, how about Dickson cut blocking on most plays, obviously game planned by their coaching staff, there is obvious reasons for that being an illegal block, and luckily the refs called it 3 times, but it went on all night even when players were trying to release for a pass. Now that is classy, teaching kids to break the rules of the game.
  19. LOL, If Baylor is so great, how why did they turn it over 7 times, give Columbia some credit for creating turnovers, that is like saying if Baylor had not scored three of their touchdowns COlumbia would have won.
  20. I agree it is a different world and another class of football, I also know that COlumbia is much better than Bradley Central and they played your almighty Baylor to 17 points and scored 28 on them. My point about Baylor is that they have been inconsistant. I am WAY off and the so called experts on Saturday's and Sunday's are much like you, I gave my opinion and you gave yours, Baylor is a proven dominant team that probably would destroy any public school they would line up against. LOL Baylor may win and may win big but they are a middle of the road dII program, and Columbia being a public school probably could not beatanyone in the private sector, I am sorry to have insulted anyone by suggesting that Columbia had a chance. I bet coachfuuzeball picked the Lions to be 5-0 back in july.
  21. I am going with Columbia in this one, they are riding a momentum train and Baylor is next on their track, Not sure about Baylor, I have nto seen them play but I am not convinced they are among the tops in their division, winning is not traditional for them, they are generally in the middle of the pack as they are still in my mind. beat a 3-4 soddy daisy beat a 3-3 McCallie beat a 4-3 Father Ryan Beat a 5-2 Bradley Central beat a 3-5 MBA beat a 7-1 Ensworth lost to a 7-1 BA Baylor is no doubt solid and very capable but world beaters, lets hold up, with that being said, I do not think that Columbia is near the team that they were last season but they are more use to winning 7 more wins in the last 3 years, and seem to play good in teh big games, 9-1 in the last two years in the play offs, while Baylor is 3-2.
  22. Henry County was up by more than 21 at the half and did not play their starters mcuh at all in the second half, one series if I am not mistaken,
  23. Clarksville is a pretty good football team with and outstanding athletic qb, If I am not mistaken, HC has lost the last 3 trips to Clarksville high and have lost 4 of last 6 meetings. Clarksville is the only district team to have beaten HC since the realignment.
  24. as a christian, I agree, but lets pretend for a second that there were some muslim coaches that were pushing muslim practices on their players, the christians would be up in arms about it. I feel as if the team wants to and the coach wants to bow his or her head then so be it, no one has the right to say who can bow their heads, I for one bow my head several times a day most of the time it goes totally unnoticed. I guess the coaches should steal, covet thy neighbors wife, and never tell the truth, if they are not to practive any christian practices. I hope my children have good christian coaches if they play sports, and if their coach prays or bows his or her head then I will support them.
  25. Warrior was right on again, it was 49-0 with 9:30 to go in the second quarter with ne not even having a first down, Henry county subbed in their jv and NE scored two tds in the second quarter, starters played one series in the third quarter and marched 95 yards on 7or eight plays, they did not belong on the same field with Henry County. Next stop Clarksville. Number four had been putting up big numbers but NE had negative yardage in the first quarter ended up with around 100 all first downs came against the jv. Henry County was 75 points better than NE.
