wrestling camps

Looking for some suggestions for summer wrestling camps.

This would be for more experienced/accomplished wrestlers where they could take their wrestling to the next level and not be mixed in with 300 first or second year wrestlers. I'm talking about state placers that want to be able to compete nationally. Looking for suggestions for an all around camp that would spend time on their feet, top and bottom work. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on a good leg camp (offense and defense).

One camp you want to consider, since you have as quality group of guys as you say, is the Slippery Rock Wrestling Camp in PA.

The Head Coach is Derek Delporto, former All-American Heavy Weight from The Rock. He has coached at Clarion, Oklahoma, Cornell, before returning home. Very talented wrestler and coach.

Your kids will have an opportunity to wrestle 15-21 matches against kids from PA and surrounding states.

Just contact Slipper Rock for any further information you will need.

How would this be affected by the fact that Slippery Rock just announced that they are dropping their wrestling program?

Terry Brands always has the best camps in the country. He is doing a camp at the University of West Georgia(30 miles west of Atlanta). It is going to be a team and technical camp. You can get a ton of competion and world class instruction, with one of the world's best motivators. Brochures will be out soon.

Higher Calling Wrestling Camp will be July 9-13 just east of Cleveland on Lake Ocoee. Camp will be open to first 75 wrestlers entered. We want it to be quality not quantity. The camp will place emphasis on wrestling and life. There will be speaking each night encouraging the athletes to be men of faith, not fear! It is going to be a great camp. For more information contact Heath Eslinger at

(423) 284-8881.
