If their keeper could get his act together and make a save or two, they could be a tough team to stop. Last year’s BGA-Ryan game was a tale of two halves, but the same team that Ryan beat in the state finals, slashed BGA's keeper for a 6-0 win (pun intended).

Tengo un dolor de mis nalgas.

Ouch. Actually it was "just" 4-0, if i assume correctly that your talking about the CBHS game.

Who are you?

ydet, I am sorry if I offended you. It was a mistake on my part to say 6-0 when it was "just" 4-0-- Not that it really matters when the score is that lopsided. Regardless, the point was that their keeper needs to make some big time saves in order for his team to advance. A good keeper is a vital part to the game. The goalkeeper is unique in the fact that he has so much pressure placed on his shoulders. Any mistake may equal doom to his squad. When a team’s keeper is not up to handling the pressure, defensively it all falls on the keeper. When it comes down to it, BGA played some good teams towards the end of the season, and they faltered down the stretch.

I agree with most of this. A good keeper can hold a team on his sholders while a bad one can ruin the team; but for a team to make it far into the playoffs, it takes more than just one player. Also, a truly good team will find a way to support and cover up their weaker components.

By the way Contracter, i was wondering if you understand the irony of this conversation.

Father Ryan gave JPII a very humbling experience on Friday, easily handling them with only 10 players. Father Ryan may not be as good as last year, but a team never forgets how to win.

Acutally, I heard that Father Ryan did not have enough players and borrowed a couple of players from Pope John Paul II. I do not believe JP2 losing 3 to 2 is a very humbling experience. From where I sit, I would say that it is going to be an interesting year. :thumb:

Is this true?
