How will the Unaka Rangers be this year ?

Just want to get some thoughts on the Unaka High School baseball team this year.... How does everyone think they will be? Return to state or not.... Any new players to watch out for.... And will they have any more good pitchers besides Blevins this year .... Just like to hear some thoughts.... Best of luck to the Rangers this year

Besides Blevins (which signed with King on Monday the 13th) they will have Aaron Greer, Chris Buckels, Andrew Church, Mike Carpenter, Josh Lowe may pitch a little after he recovers from his leg, and they have some young guys that may see some action. But the only Starter back on the rotation is Blevins but all in all they may have more depth this year on the rubber.

Sounds like they really might have more depth this year than years past..... I'm familiar with most those names and they can all throw.....This sounds like it could be a good year for the Rangers....How is Buckles looking? I know he hasnt played in awhile but I remember he used to be a heck of a ball player...Is he looking good on the mound, in the field, and at the plate after not playing for such a long time...For that matter how is the team looking aswell.... Thanks just wanting to know how my Rangers are looking this year

Well Chris is doing great on all aspesects of the game for not playing in 3 1/2 years. He is coming along quick and will improve all year....big plus for us this year. The team as a whole is doing pretty good as well. They may be younger than they have in the past few years but we may have more depth as you pointed out. We could finsh probly anywhere between 3rd in the Conf. to making another trip to State and actually win a few while we are there.

 

Now if it would only quit snowing so everyone could practice.....

If the weather would calm down, maybe we could get on the field and have a real practice. Until then I guess we will just throw in the gym and such. Everyone's arm is getting stronger but that is about it.

The Unaka Rangers are looking good since they have started to get some practice on the field. They have 3 scrimmages this week against HV Chuk Dok and Sull. Central. Then Sat. they have the Jambo.

What about the younger players that Unaka has coming up for the upcoming year?

The Younger kids that are playing are stepping up into some key roles that some of the other kids did last year. The Rangers have started off at 2-0 but have a tough week next week against Happy Valley, North Greene, and TN High.

With the private schools out of 1A, now you might have a chance to compete. The competition at the state tournament will be watered down from what it has been the past few years. Also, being in Murphreesboro has got to be a lot better for you than Memphis.
