The last time I checked Memphis and Shelby County is in West Tennessee. ;)

Does this happen in other place of the state? The Jackson Sun's all West Tennessee team does not include Shelby County. As if it was located in Mississippi or Arkansas.

Is Chattagnooa part of East Tennessee or Georgia? Is Bristol in East Tennessee or Virginia? (No...not a good example because half the city is in Virginia. But you get my point.)

Don't feel bad about lack of coverage..Lake Co is way off on the corner of nowhere as far as the Jackson Sun is concerned..Lake Co has more wins in the State than any team at about 29-4,has won twenty games in a row, plays in probably the best Single A district in the State, has what most people would consider to be a high school legend coaching, has beaten Middle College,Union City, and Humboldt twice....The Sun had an article about tandems lately, two Liberty players, two Haywood players,Weddle and Robinson from U.C..,Kelcey Rose and Toylon Smith from Humboldt....But no Tony Tyler and Brandon Springer from Lake Co....They had an article about the favorites to win the State...Middleton was one of them...Then they had the sleepers..Adamsville and McKenzie....I didn't see Lake Co.Union City or Humboldt being listed ,even as one of the sleeper teams...I know all those players that I talked about earlier are deserving as well as Middleton being listed as one of the favorites...I haven't seen an article yet when Humboldt was playing Union City in the district tournament or last week, when when Lake Co went to Humboldt and played in one of the biggest games in the area on that night..Humboldt,Union City and Lake Co are 3 great teams that are not getting a lot of coverage...In Humboldt's case..at least they are pretty close to Jackson..You would think the Jackson Sun would cover them a little more with the year they are having...At least send someone to the Lake Co- Humboldt game at Humboldt...Just a few miles out of Jackson...The Jackson Sun has just started moving Lake Co up in their Jackson Sun poll..Thet haven't even seen us play...So..I wouldn't be too torn up about Jackson Sun coverage..They don't even cover a lot of the West Tenn.teams either..Guess they are too busy covering U.S.J. vs.Trinity or J.C.S....!

Well Bigster they will reconize when either Humbolt Lake Co. or Union City cut the nets down in Burro!!..And then when it all over they might put a little add in there somewhere..Jackson Sun is sorry for not covering Humbolt, just a few miles down the road. And you got Lake Co.#3 in the state they could care less about..And Union City, who has beaten #4Haywood at Haywood on their home floor which Boliver nor Liberty could do.Humm..I dunno about our great media around here man..But its pretty obvious they no nothing about Basketball or they just dont care!!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
