balla 1
Congratulations to the Blue Raiders, District 5AAA Tournament Champs! You were the better team tonight. The Lady Jets could not buy a basket in the first half (If I heard correctly 16%). Even after fighting back to within 2 after being down at one time by I think 17, you were able to hold out for the win. This was an exciting game to watch but we came out on the short end. Great sportsmanship and effort from the kids and coaches on both teams. I am looking forward to next week's games and who knows, we might meet again on Thursday. It is a shame that after this season it will be several years for this classic rivalry to rekindle with the school split in Cumberland next year. Lady Jets, you never gave up and you fought to the end! Even with the mistakes it all boiled down to pretty much one thing, the ball didn't go through the hoop and sometimes that just happens. THE SEASON ISN'T OVER YET! KEEP IT ON.
WillieTheWildcat
A mighty Wildcat WOO HOO goes out to the Lady Raiders! Of course an even mightier Wildcat roar goes out to Assistant Coach Jennifer Wilson. Some people remember her for being the cornerstone for the current domination of the So Con by the UTC Lady Mocs, but some of us remember her for being a two time Tennessee Class AAA Miss Basketball from Oak Ridge. Shoot, I remember her dominating at Jefferson Middle School. She was a sure shot straight out of the crib. You can bet, I'll be at Red Bank High to cheer on Cleveland this week. I hope to see her parents and Mrs. Lee there. It would be a little Oak Ridge reunion deep in Lady Lion Country. Wouldn't it be nice if Sure Shot becomes Oak Ridge's coach when Coach Prudden decides to hang up the whistle? Who better to replace a coaching legend than a blossoming legend. Who better to replace a coaching legend than a blossoming legend. Let's not even think about that. Jennifer Wilson is doing a good great job of taken over the head coaching position at Cleveland, the Cleveland people seem to like her coaching style. She has a shot at taking this team back to Mufreesboro. Go Coach J! You can bet, I'll be at Red Bank High to cheer on Cleveland this week. Oh, and thanks for the support! maroonandwhite
Question. When is Cumberland and Stone Gap going to be officially split? What will the approximate sizes of the two schools be? Does that mean that one AAA will become two AA teams? If they become AA teams which District will they put them in? 5AA already has 9 teams and 6AA has about that many.
ballfan
Would this be some Great Ball or What? The Top 4 from 9AAA VS 5AAA I would rather see this than the State Tourny.
