Congratulations to Coach Vanardo and the team for winning the District Championship last night. Moving on into the Regionals to face Obion County on Saturday. Great game last night the Tomcats just totally outplayed Fayette Ware from the jump ball. Jarvis Vanardo had a terrific game even though he wasnt feeling well. Shaveon Comage (the 6th man) came off the bench to lead the Tomcats in scoring for the second night in the tournament. He was named Tournament MVP and Jarvis was named regular season MVP. Congrats to all the players and Congrats to Coach Vanardo for being named Coach of the Year. Not bad for a first year varsity coach. The TOMCAT TRAIN KEEPS ROLLING!!!!

Haywood will be in the hunt as usual and you know that they are confident after finally breaking through against Bolivar earlier this season.

That confidence might be needed if we are fortunate enough to make it there. We could possibly face Bolivar in the first round of the state.

Thanks glad someone on here notices. Seems like a lot of the time this is a Bolivar, Liberty, and Lexington board.

Yeah even though they were pretty heavy favorites to win that district, it`s always nice to go out and take care of business and bring the hardware home. Good luck to Haywood.

Being heavy favorites and actually finishing the job are two different things. Thanks for the well wishes. Let's keep it rolling through these Regionals Coach Varnado and the Fellas!!!!

We definitely have a shot at the gold ball this year, even though the media has been heavily focused on Bolivar and Liberty. Flying somewhat under the radar could prove to benefit the 'Cats further down tournament road against teams less familiar with West TN. Of course, first we have to get through Bolivar or Liberty.. and Mitchell for that matter. Let's hope the Tomcats fair as well this year as last year against Mitchell-- they aren't going to come in looking for an easy win this year.

jsills,

That ball will be hard as ever to try to bring home. The TSSAA seems to have a way of pairing the teams together that would make some unbelievable semi final games together in the first round. The Tomcats have been under the radar this season. You dont hear people talking about them much. If we win regionals and Mitchell does the same we would only have to see them in Murfreesboro.
