One thing is for sure before the Region 5AA tourney begins. Loretto or Ezell Harding, one, will not make it to sub-state. If both make it past the 1st round, they will meet in a 2nd round match and the loser will be done for the season. Some great teams will be eliminated in the regional tournaments as some were in the district tournaments.

Go Loretto Lady Mustangs!!!

tigerman - you'll have to ask Giles Co. about the time change. The original times and districts were scratched out and changed for Tuesday. I'll email you the photo I took of it you want it. Send your email directly to me at wtunst9053@aol.com if you don't want it posted here. I've got nothing to hide.

You are right, Uknow. The upset of Ezell-Harding by David Lipscomb assures that Loretto will meet Ezell-Harding in the semi-finals on Wed - provided both teams win in the quarter-finals. I guess the other four teams in the lower bracket can breathe a little easier knowing that either Loretto or E-H will knocked out before the finals.

Loretto over CPA by 22

Lipscomb over Page by 10

Ezell-Harding over Marshall Co by 18

FRA over Lewis Co by 10

You've lost your mind! Try these.

Loretto over CPA by 40

Page over Lipscomb by 4

Ezell over Marshall by 2 (best chance at a big upset)

FRA vs Lewis even

Loretto will win this region. Ezell has a good team, but back to back games against much faster teams will prove too much. CPA might be the worst team in the AA region state wide.

Pageman- not doubting you, I just not understand the reasoning behind the

time selections. Home district higher seeds usually have a time slot and

visiting district higher seeds have the other time slot on BOTH nights.

Not what Region 5AA did apparently.

Used to be cookbook how a tournament was set up, now it looks like they

cooked scrambled eggs when they made the pairings.

I've seen the times you posted elsewhere, so once again you are dead on.

By the way, what are the odds we play again---5000-1 ??

I also figured the home district's higher seed would have the latter games, but oh well, guess I'll just have to close up early. My picks are winners of 1st round: Loretto, David Lipscomb, Ezell Harding, Franklin Road Academy with 3 of the 4 being close games. 2nd round: Loretto, David Lipscomb in close games. Finals: Loretto in a close game.

Once upon a time they did. That was to help insure a pretty decent crowd.

Your picks could be right on target.

I'm a little nervous though that's is going to be a tough week for District 9AA.

Will be very suprised if we have more than one team still standing after

the first round.

In regards to the times, I would have thought that the teams who have to travel the most distance would have had the earlier starting times. As for Page meeting Marshall Co. for the 5th time, Page has a greater chance of reaching the finals. Marshall on the other hand would have to beat both both Ezell-Harding and Loretto to advance. It's not impossible though - keep the faith tigerman.

Gosh dangit, why'd we go out & beat you all Thursday night then !!

Looking at the brackets though I think you're right.

I think we'd love another shot at Loretto, I just don't know if we can beat

Ezell-Harding to get that chance though.
