Are you talking about the Article on what a great job she has done, being a first year Coach and going to State?

You must be thinking of someone else. You post the article and I will compare it with the one I have and if they are different I will then post what’s written in the Tennessean I have. I will read the board rules again and make sure its ok

I think I read the artilce he is talking about, It said something about your coach doing a good job and leading the team to state, only to find out that she was not reported to the TSSAA as a non-faculty coach, and that Oliver Springs had to pay a $2,500 fine, $500 per year she coached. I read it too, I wondered why she wasnt annouced as the coach at the state tournament.

Havent saw that article but I know she is a School employee in Oliver Springs schools and that she has been the Assisant Coach for at least four years and to be their that long I would think she has been approved by T$$AA. I know of another Coach in Roane County whos not a Teacher but was a Head Coach for years but was a Roane County School employee.

I might still have the paper, Ill look for it, and if i find it I will email it to you word for word if you want me to tommorow. But Im pretty sure that is along the lines of what it said. It did say that she was the schools nurse, so you would think that would be good enough. Dosent make much sense to me too.

I dont really know, waiting for Technical to e-mail and I will let you know.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Contrary to popular belief there is more to life than what’s debated or denied on this thread.

First let me respond to BBALLTN. The article that ECS is referring to is the article I was referring to as well. You see I guess we were talking about two different articles but the same coach it seems. It was nice of ECS to email the article to you, word for word. I think the Tennessean just gives the article a little more insight, you know how nosey those news reporters are when it comes to digging out facts. Don’t know for sure but I heard additional information may be in the Tennessean in the near future. I will keep an eye out and let you know if you want?

Oh! I called a friend of mine in Hermitage late yesterday evening in response to your post #55 on approved. Trust me he knows the T$$AA rules well. A non-faculty employee must complete five years as an approved assistant coach to be eligible for a head coaching position.

REGAL……

I don’t think anyone living in Oliver Springs would feel any better now. Just don’t see the humor you do in this.

To the LADY BOBCATS, hang in there. You are a great bunch of talented girls. Hope things go better for you next year. :D

Regal why are you so upset? It seems that if it is no big deal it should be on Coacht and why are people fighting to keep it off and hide it? It seems to me that the only person that made a mistake and the only person you shoiuld be upset with is the person that hired the coach without checking the rules. I assume it was the principal of Oliver Springs but I know that is not always the case. It sounds like you actually got off easy(just a fine). I dont think it is funny either because I bet this had to effect the players because I am sure they knew all this before this article came out.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
